Events/Voices Broken

So I discovered the wonders of Skyrim mods a couple of nights ago, and have since been installing them in swarms. This obviously caused a problem eventually.

My problem is thus : voice acting has ceased, not even the city guards say anything when they walk by. Quest events have become null, anytime the game takes character control away from you (Dark Brotherhood coffin events, and the game opening sequence with in the back of the wagon are good examples.) it never gives it back, you can pan the camera around but can't move your character, etc.

The opening sequence is a good example, you ride the wagon to the very end, and the whole time not a single NPC says a word, when the wagon reaches the end of the route you just sit there in the back of the wagon, nothing happens from then on.

I have deleted every Skyrim related file I know of twice, uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice as well. The problem persists.

The mod I installed that seemed to cause the problem is called Wars in Skyrim IV.

Any assistance into this matter would be greatly appreciated, as I have done everything I know to try to resolve it myself.

I originally bought the game on Steam, so I'm fairly certain that I can't install it outside of Steam. Not sure if that is relevant at all, but there you have it.

Thanks!

Same trouble here... some couple differences but still the same issue... i opened again a topic about this and hope someone knows about the issue... if you find a way to fix this, tell me please...

Did you noticed that the game itself goes a bit "faster", NPC chats are faster, they walk a "bit" faster and some other things... it's sightly perceptible but you can notice it.

Aye, the subtitles deffinitely were faster, faster to the point of unreadability. I didn't notice the movement speed change though.

Basically I took the drastic measure and formatted my harddrive last night, just got windows installed again, re-downloading Skyrim (shame that Steam doesn't save the install files to your computer, having to download the game everytime you need to reinstall is a pain in the rear.) Idea behind doing this is I know without a doubt it will fix the problem, lol. Other then that, I have found very little information at all on how to fix this problem, looked through countless forum topics and searched google for hours on end, only found a handful of people with this problem, and no one with a fix.

Formatting the harddisk is a drastic measure, but I can't see any reason why a simple reinstallation of Windows wouldn't fix the problem, the fact that it persists after installation and deletion of game files says it's a corruption in the registry, in which case Windows reinstallation should fix everything. Not sure if yours persists after reinstallation of Skyrim, but mine did so.

Hi

Well... now you are in "step 2" for say something... i'm at step 1, re-installing Skyrim(works... voices perfect, clean as new) now installing mods 1 by 1 testing every few... and with that info maybe i'll now 100% what "activates" that shitty problem... this will be the "only" way to fix this issue...

I'll keep you update if i know something,

Hi

Well... finally worked, same mods as before, just re-installed the game and installed all mods again, every 5-6 opened the game in case any of those made the problem, but now works just fine, and i'm a Ninja in-game... so... i'm happy xD

Hope your problem solves with this ;)

Currently in the same boat.

Have uninstalled and the re-installed the game (via Steam) but to no avail.

The problem is exactly the same however:

1. No sound for the voice dialogue

2. Really fast subtitles

Most frustrating but can't find much about it.

Don't really want to do a Win7 re-install if i can avoid it.
