L33UM
An example of a Celtic shield I'm surprised this hasn't been attempted yet, I would have made this months ago had I any modding talent. A celtic shield is simple in design, but take note of the handle position, when held up, the shield is horizontal, and when at rest it stands vertically. This was the preferred shield style of many ancient armies, like the roman legion for example. There aren't many shield mods out there that aren't just retextures, so this would be a cool original mod.
Moraelin
Actually, not really about it ever being horizontal. The handle was in that position at least for the Roman version because you'd carry it like a briefcase and prop it with a shoulder. Even if you had to lift it higher, that central spine would still be vetical. Pretty much, the game just doesn't have proper animations for that kind of shield. But IMHO it being vertical when blocking is the least wrong. That said, hmm, it's tempting, but I don't really have the time at the moment for another shield. But if you can live with the grandson of that shield, namely very late a Fayum model Roman scutum, there is one in my Armae Legionis mod.
