Oblivion-On armor removal, low res textures and nude mod

When I remove the armor on my Oblivion saves, the textures turn extremely low-resolution and there is a nude mod in place, though I'm playing on vanilla. Can anyone help?

If you could provide a screenshot or something for us to see what it's looking like, it'd be far easier to spot right on. Upload it to a free picture host and post the link here or the url.

 

I suspect there was a body mod installed without your knowledge, like the male body meshes unintentionally packaged with Deadly Reflex 6 or beta or whatever it was.

But the default of all body mods is underwear, so I don't know what exactly could have happened for you to get nude meshes now, unless they're indeed coming from a dirty (dirty not as in containing ESP edits which shouldn't be but as in containing files which shouldn't be) mod which shouldn't contain them to begin with.

 

Low resolution sounds like a Vanilla "I'm-for-one-body-part-only" texture is spread over the whole body of a body mod, which is supporting my assumption. But without a picture to see it for myself I can never be sure.

 

edit: Oh, almost forgot one of the most important things... We'll also need a load order and/or a list of the mods you've installed, to be able to spot the troublemaker.

I have no mods running. It might be the male body meshes with DR6, because I had that a while back. However, I purged my mods folder and I should be running Vanilla. Also, the nudity affects males and females of all races. In case it was not clear, I wish to remove the nude models from my game as I'm not a pervert who masturbates to a video game and has no life. (Not to be offensive to some people...) Here's the link to the album with the shots.

You know, saying something breathtakingly offensive isn't evened out by saying "no offense". No one cares what you do or do not masturbate to, so why even bring it up? And I can basically guarantee that most people who are going to help you have seen the nude skin textures, and managed to survive the experience.

 

At any rate, you clearly have some messed up textures pathing, presumably because of mods that were installed previously. If you just want to run vanilla, uninstall Oblivion and reinstall it, that'll fix the problem, and will be way easier than trying to track down precisely how your texture paths got messed up.

Easy now. I'll never so quickly suggest a complete reinstall unless the game's installation is really messed up beyond repair. Which so far I never encountered. Granted, a "clean" uninstall and reinstall, removing all mods and any trails of them in existance, is the most easiest way to get rid of any unwanted effects... but I still think in case of just properly removing body mods' effects from your game it's like goose hunting with aircraft carriers, if you get my poor self-invented metaphor there, loosely related to a German one I know.

 

What I can spot in the screenshots is exactly what we knew already. That's clearly a Robert's Male body mesh when not clothed, and it's the same for all body parts. I can't absolutely tell what the female one is, but it's definitely not a Vanilla body mesh as well. Maybe TFF or Robert's Female from the wrinkles at the knuckles, but that's just guessing.

Now, it could be "both" originated from your previous Deadly Reflex install. Keep in mind most mod users think "deactivating" a mod removes its effects, while for replacer-type mods it usually does absolutely nothing but messing up some internal settings. A replacer mod is only removed once its actual files are gone, or better yet, replaced with whatever there was in their place before their installation, if anything that is.

 

Now, body meshes can all be found inside "meshes/characters/_male". The files to watch out for are "upperbody.nif", "lowerbody.nif", "hand.nif", "foot.nif" for males and "femaleupperbody.nif", "femalelowerbody.nif", "femalehand.nif" and "femalefoot.nif". As this game is "one" set of body meshes for "all" races, this is all you'll have to delete to revert everything back to Vanilla bodies. Given you're not intending to use any other mods right now either, it shouldn't hurt removing other files you find in there as well, as a complete Vanilla installation doesn't even have this folder to begin with and all files in there must be mod-added.

edit: And I agree with Nephenee's first line here. I'm using body mods myself, always the underwear option (default for most), but only because I deem it unrealistic to run around naked under your bulky iron armor or something... just a personal preference... but this statement makes it seem like everybody using body mods would be a pervert or something, while it's rather a realism and inversion thing for most. If it wasn't pretty much impossible to insult me, even if one really tries, I'd be pretty much insulted myself now actually... and ongoing real-life issues not to be discussed here dropped my level of acceptance, especially for attacks on others, remarkably already the last years. I'm afraid of the day someone actually manages to go too far and gets to read my return fire, as it's the day I'll meet the banhammer, never to come back here... just telling.
