z3nb4st4rd
First time running the CK. I just installed it after the latest Skyrim patch tonight. Running the beginner's tutorial on the "Unowned Cell". Everything seems to work up until I try to click drag on the chest to translate or rotate it. It won't move with my mouse. It will move coarsely with the cursor keys, but when I try to click drag nothing happens. I updated my mouse driver, tried a different mouse, to no avail. I did get several errors while loading Skyrim.ESM which related to a NAVMESH and several relating to various "door" objects. I do run a ton of mods in my game but I don't see where this would affect the CK environment while only loading the base .ESM At this point I will blame the latest update. Any help would be appreciated.
Tamb0
Hit number 2 or W on your keyboard (depending which gizmo is active). This will turn off the gizmo, allowing you to drag the selected object with a left mose click or rotate it with a right mouse click.
z3nb4st4rd
Thank you for the reply. I will try that when I get home. Hopefully you have identified my problem. In following the video tutorials from Bethsoft they never mentioned anything like that. The dev just grabbed it and started moving it around. Thanks again for taking the time, I'll let you know how that works out.
flobalob
It's possible that you have the object snap set too high. If it's set to a very high value (128+)the the object won't move until you have dragged it to the next snap point. Check your snap preferences or turn grid snapping off. I am still unable to move an object except in a very coarse fashion using the cursor keys. The mouse pointer changes state correctly depending on where I hover it and I am able to single click to select various objects but click/dragging does not work. @flobalob - I checked both the Tool bar and Preferences to verify the snap settings, they are turned off (default). I tried turning snap on to see if it made a difference. It did not. I'm going to keep playing around with this. I definitely want to get into real modding but I don't want to reinstall it yet. I may have to, I am running a ton of mods though and it would be a *censored* to redo them all. Maybe it has to do with some prefs setting. Someday I will have to reinstall it so I guess I'll have to wait until then. Thanks for your time and attention to this. I welcome any other feedback anyone has.
