Making a keyable greenscreen room in Creation Kit?

Before you judge my seemingly roundabout methods, I would like to preface this by saying I've tried looking for relevant info, and asking multiple forums, to no avail.

So here's what I'm trying to achieve: I want to build a series of walls with flat colored green to mimic a green screen room like so http://greenscreenbackdrops.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Studio-2-Green-Screen.jpg

The reason behind this is I'm going to record the footage in Fraps and then take into a program like Adobe After Effects to key out the green. I want to pull the UI and menu elements and the green will help make my job that much easier, especially when it comes to the Inventory and Barter menus which have translucency.

"Why on earth would you do that alsmithee?!?" you are probably asking yourself. "Wouldn't it be easier to pull the assets directly from the flash files?"

Yeah it would, and since you are about to school me on how to do just that I thank you very very much and also where the hell were you last week?

I haven't delved too deep but I don't know if there's a way to do a monochrome texture on a room wall. The Creation Kit seems to have some flat colors for bounding boxes but that's for the CK editor and not renderable as far as I can tell. I figure maybe this is some custom texture you might have to import? If anyone has ideas I'm all ears.

As someone who works in TV production, this piqued my interest. Importing a simple flat green texture isn't really a problem. The issue, as I see it, would be the same as it is when chromakeying in real life: lighting. I can think of two ways of solving the problem, and one is a lot simpler than the other.

The easy way would be to make a new internal cell with a transparent (ie. alpha-channel textured) floor, and set the default lighting and background atmosphere to be the appropriate shade of green. The hue will be more or less uniform, as there won't be any objects to reflect the light.

The difficult way would be to literally re-create a greenscreen set up, like you would build it in real life. This means importing the appropriate flat green textures, applying them to custom wall, floor, and ceiling pieces, and then setting up a series of light sources to properly illuminate the backdrop. Given how much simpler the previous option is, I don't really recommend trying this - unless you want bragging rights. :P

Let us know how it goes!

This is probably the answer I was looking for, and I thank thee. I wanted to get a custom barter dialogue tree from a merchant and menu too so I will probably make an invisible merchant. Again sounds stupid but that's filmmaking for you, hiding the smoke and mirrors

Hi there, I saw this thread yesterday and thought it was a good idea. I went ahead and made a chroma key room and got it uploaded: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11814

Hope it helps! Let me know if it needs any additions or changes

Dude I could kiss you on the lips! Instead I will simply say thank you. I will likely post my video in one of the Skyrim subforums to show results once I'm finished.

You mentioned a similar map, I assume you mean this one

Kudos to him too but yours doesn't have the shadow spill and hot spots
