Hey guys, over the next year or so I'll be periodically posting updates on some Dark Souls stuff I'll be modelling and texturing for Skyrim.

 

To start off here is the unfinished Black Knight Helm.

Right so made some progress on the helm's horns.

 

Currently it looks like a banana is growing out of it, at least the Undead women won't complain so much.

I'm going to work on it and finish it off in the next few days, my post time will be infrequent due to the fact that I have several assignments to work on.

Did it, I didn't use the ref pic that much since that Bastard's appearance is pretty much burned into my psyche.

 

Here's the helmet now, I'm honestly dreading doing the rest of the body, I haven't actually done any body armour before.

That helmet looks overly highpoly from the screens. You don't need half of the polys for the top bit of the helm. You can quite easily reduce the number and still keep that smooth surface.

Love the design though, looks kinda like the witchking from LOTR

I'm not really sure what the average polycount for Skyrim is.

 

I actually used a smooth modifier on the Horns, usually that doesn't up the polycount to ridiculous heights while giving it a smooth look.
