Skyrim ctd

My game keeps crashing when I go exploring, I can walk around at one place for a while without crashing but when I actually go far away (basically going from Whiterun to the tower where you have the dragon fight) the game crashes without an error, I've tried patching the game, updating my drivers, audio fix and general optimising but that didn't fix the issue. Also my FPS seems to be quite low when I'm exploring, it's ~20 when I'm supposed to get well over 50FPS with my current setup.

Not sure if this has something to do with my issue but Whiterun lost half of it's textures and I could see through things, TPing to an interior, then TP to Whiterun seems to have fixed that though.

 

 

Running on Windows 7 64 bit

 

AMD Phenom x6 1090T 4.6ghz

4x Radeon 6990

32gb RAM DDR3

3x 2TB HDD

I have Crossfire disabled, shadows on low, no mods installed.

Also, I'm using Breakaway Broadcast for audio, does this have any effect on the game?
