BolasNicol
So I've been trying to force the character to wear iron armor, but since it isn't better than Lydias standard steel armor she won't wear it. I've tried the 'removealltiems' but as soon as I transfer the first armor item she reverts to her old steel armor. Is there any way around this? Any idea how I can solve this problem? JanusForbeare
"equipitem <item ID> <quantity>" should do the trick, in the short term. However, since the steel armour is part of her default outfit (I have no idea what the devs were smoking when they designed that feature) she will revert from time to time. It's a pain in the butt. xyks
I had the smae problem with Aela. Use the NPC editor, Tto remove/alter her standard armor, really worked wonders for me, Though thee follower will most likely use the infinite errors after messing with it's inverntory. Here you can find the Editor.http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4554

That way, she wears whatever you give her.

BrknSoul
Editing an NPC's base inventory has nothing to do with body mods.
BolasNicol
Is it possible to solve this by killing Lydia, looting her body and then resurrecting her?

With the editor, I was also able to swap her face out (she now has Lynly Starsong's face) and change her hair color and type as well as her stance. It's a great mod (the NPC editor).
