Creepy hands/fingers

Hello.

 

I never play third person, but as I'm testing a mod, I need to use this view mode. And I'm finding this bug quite a bit.

Sometimes the finger stretch like in the image and most of the time, the hands are cute by the half.

 

A resarch has returned to me that this is a problem of the game and can not be solved, but I do not know if I can trust this information.

 

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks.

You need to use a "merge/bash patch" file with that many plugins in order to resolve record level conflicts. Please see the 'Third Rule: The Rule of One', 'Smaller Plugin Cap', and 'Merge Patch file' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

 

I don't know about those fingers being a "vanilla" issue. Never saw it myself. My initial guess would be it's related to some replacement skeleton (armature) installed by a "body replacement", companion, or clothing/armor mod. The game engine uses exactly one "skeleton.nif" file for all humanoids, located under the "Fallout New Vegas\Data\Meshes\characters\_1stperson" folder. If any mod replaces the vanilla one with it's own, the game "happily" uses it for everyone.

Disable (not uninstall) all mods did not resolve. Ok, leave this topic open for now, in a few days I'll do a clean installation, we'll see if it will resolve.

After ANOTHER fresh reinstall the problem seems to be resolved. And bonus, now Geck is no longer taking 20 days to load.

 

To be honest, I think it was my fault. I extracted all BSA files to the New Vegas folder. NEVER DO THAT.

Yeah, we've learned the hard way that the game seems to only like to use vanilla meshes and textures for characters directly from the BSAs. Extracting them shouldn't make a difference, but it does. (Loose files from mods are another matter entirely. It's just "weird".)
