kaitek78
Hello all! Mod amateur here. I've just got round to modding Oblivion (using Wrye Bash), and have a question about Better Cities and sub-packages. I noticed that this mod has tons of sub-packages in it, and when I tried installing all of them, I got a ton of red boxes once I'd installed them, suggesting stuff didn't quite add up. My question is, do I even need all these subpackages? Which subpackages will give me the bulk of the Better Cities mod? In general, do I need to worry about subpackages? Look forward to hearing your replies!
megadace
Assuming you're using wrye bash, you need to right-click on the better cities installers and click on 'wizard' instead of 'install'. That will open up a wizard that will walk you through installing the better cities modules. You should use the 'wizard' function for any installer that has a little magic wand on the icon. Word of warning though, I recently installed better cities and have been having a hell of a time getting it to work without a bunch of geometry and terrain clipping issues. LOOT won't give you the best load order for better cities depending on the mods you have installed.
shinobi2008
I am not sure if your question has been answered but if I remember correctly, most of the sub packages are optional. They are provided to support compatibility with other mods or are fully integrated into the mod itself. If you take a look at the Readme, it will explain what each subpackage is for. There's also Better Cities wiki that you can visit. It basically provides the same information. BOSS is the way to go for Oblivion. LOOT works for Skyrim and newer games I think.
