Itouchmyse1f
Should you clean master files right after a fresh install of Skyrim with tes5edit before adding any mods/patches? LOOT advises to do so but i feel uncomfortable about it... wanna avoid getting ctd plz help?
Jannifer
Frankly, I never clean my masters, and I have a perfectly stable game. Also, LOOT will often recommend that you clean mods which the mod author specifically tells you NOT to clean. LOOT will throw false positives on "dirty edits". thumbincubation
I generally do, based on what I have learned reading this and other posts. I have encountered exceptionally few, who advise against it. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5381485-guide-manual-cleaning-skyrim-and-skyrim-special-edition-master-files/

LOOT advises to do so but i feel uncomfortable about it... wanna avoid getting ctd plz help?the reason i ask ive played skyrim multiple times without cleaning my master files(heck since the last install, i never even used LOOT, i just read the description and looked for what the load order should be and just worked from there) but since i used LOOT, it kept recommending to me to clean the master files cus they were "dirty" so i followed Gopher's video, Very clear and informative by the way, and i continued my game. Although it ran a little smoother like 1 or 2 frames, i immediately encountered a problem on one of my armors. Whenever i went into first person, the armor just blocked out the camera, obstructing me from seeing anything and i just got pissed and deleted the game. i think ill follow your advice and stay away from tes5edit thanks
