Gwyvern
i just got done installing the latest blender .nif scripts, but when i try to import any .nif file from skyrim i get an error and am then directed to the console, which tells me that a string is too long anybody have a working blender setup that can import skyrim .nifs, and if so, mind sharing how you set it up? thank you
LittleBaron
Blender's latest scripts don't support the SKYRIM .nif format yet. Follow along with this tutorial Creating Armour for SKYRIM to see how to temporarily change a nif back to an older format that Blender recognizes. I will tell you from experience that there will be other things Blender doesn't like besides what the writer of the tutorial came across.Just look at the console box (the black window) and see what was causing the problem, and remove it from the model with NifSkope. When you go to make your .nif Skyrim-able again you may have to do some reverese engineering. EDIT: If you're not trying to import armor or something else skinned to a skeleton, it's much easier to export an OBJ. file from NifSkope,, import that into Blender and then import it back into NifSkope.
