strelok35
Hello !I have a pretty decent hardware but my game is lagging like crazy !I'm sure I have installed all of my mods perfectly, but I have trouble running the game smoothly, especially outside. Here's the list of the mods I have installed right now : The game + all the DLCFallout Character Overhaul + Fallout Redesigned 3BoG Type 3 replacerYUP (unofficial bugfixes)Project NevadaMore PerksWeapon Mod MenuMod Configuration MenuRealistic Wasteland LightingEVEWeapon Mod ExpandedIMPACTNMC Texture Pack (had them on "Large" before, turned them down to "Medium" but no significant improvement..)New Vegas Anti CrashStutter RemoverThe 4GB Patch The interiors run pretty smoothly I'd say, but I'm experiencing heave stuttering outside. I've turned down most of the game graphics options : shadows, water reflections, AA, AF, ... and dramatically reduced objects loading distancesAlso, according to RivaTuner it is my GPU that is bottlenecking, CPU looks fineDo you know if removing any of these mods would improve my game experience ? Thank you in advance.
dubiousintent
Lag is caused when the game has to wait on the (much slower) disk drive to provide the data needed to render the video graphics because it is not in video memory. This can be caused by too little memory in the video card for the game's normal texture resolution, or using too high a resolution set of textures, or a combination with a larger screen resolution (which requires more video memory to build the same texture resolution's display than a lower screen resolution). When your problem only occurs in exterior vs interior cells, then you need to look at which mods only affect that type of cell in a broad manner. In this case, I would look at "Realistic Wasteland Lighting". Lighting and Weather mods affect the entire "world space" of cells. But first, given your RivaTuner says the bottleneck is your video card, see the 'Issue: Is ENBoost for everyone?' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. Then, please see the 'Solutions to Performance problems' section and 'Issue: CTD without warning, "Out of Memory error", or stops responding after the Main Menu' entry in that same guide. If that does solve your problem, please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. -Dubious-
strelok35
Thanks a lot for the answer. You were right, the culprit was "Realistic Wasteland Lighting". Upon removal, the game was made perfectly smooth again ! I even re-installed the ultra-HD texture pack, and re-set all the graphics settings on maximum, still no lag whatsoever.I have a quite decent setup (R9 390 8GB and i5-6600k) but it seems it is too light to handle RWL. I will find some other mod just to remove the horrid orange filter from the vanilla game. Thanks again !
wfandrews
Try "Clarity" it is an orange tint remover for FNV which really made a difference for me.
