combined body parts to new body, uv map issues

Ok so ive progressed with my first model and stuck again.

I have taken 2 body models, deleted what i did not want and combined them to give the body shape from one with the rear end and chest of the other.

2 questions.

where i overlapped the body parts i now have verticies inside the body, i also have sections where a couple or fows of the verticies are in exactly the same place and duplicated.

Does this matter? is there a magic button to delete anything inside the body and create new verticies where the parts intersect?

Trying to texture the model i am getting textures from 2 uv map sources so i have 4 nipples, (2 on the old chest in the old position and 2 on the new boobs) also where the ass has changed shape ive got a patchwork from the 2 skin tones.

Once ive sorted out the extra vertices,,,,,

Is there a setting to unwrap a body in the same way as the other fallout bodymeshes so i can drop it on to an existing texture, or will i have to manually copy the seam positions and manouver each piece on to the texture myself.

thanks in advance

OK

ive spent ages, combining vertices at the body parts intersect points, then deleted all the surplus vertices hidden in the model, so now ive got it all in one piece.

the textures are still coming through from 2 sources so i need to know how to delete the uv data and re assign a new texture.

will i need to unwrap this and line it all up manually?

also where i made a few alterations to the mesh, when textures a couple of triangles are showing up white, i guess this is because they are new faces which are not assigned to a uv map.

can these be added in or ?

Assuming you work with Blender:

for a new UV-Map:

First join the two meshes if you have not done this already.

Split your screen; on one show the 3d-View on the other show Image-Uv map - i think its named, don't have blender in the office and I'm a noob myself:).

Select your Bodymesh in Object mode, goto Edit mode. Select all Vertices by pressing A two times. Press U and from the Popup take the first choice - Voila new Uv-Map. But it most likely will be a quite bad one. For a decent Body-UV-Map you should mark seams on your model where the Uv-Map get cut open (so to speak). You can try different options and seams. The last Uv-Map you've done will be the one which is stored.

As said, i'm a noob myself so for more info you should look at the Blender Wikis searching for UV-Mapping and making seams.

Hope this helps at least a bit.
