SirJayy
Hello, so I have been trying to play Skyrim: Special Edition again.. but the problem is I am getting MAXIMUM 34 FPS.. I have scoured the internet for possible fixes (disable vsync, use NVIDIA Inspector, etc) and nothing it helping.. Here is another issue, I attempted to use BethINI to create a decent Ultra/High ini, but the frames are STILL locked. And to add insult to injury, I reset my inis to default (via BethINI and by physically copying and pasting them) and got 30 frames again. So then I looked up and found inis that I copied and pasted into my Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini BUUUUUTTT when I attempted to start the game, the launcher pops up and gives me the "Detecting video settings" popup then it says they're set to High. I assumed this was nothing, but when I went back into my inis, they were set to default. And for some strange, strange reason my default/the inis it gives me have no iVysncPresentInterval at all.. Nor iPresent or whatever the other one is. In the display section, there just is no setting. I have tried several fixes, but I am officially too frustrated to keep searching for answers. I am willing to send any of my files and give as much information as needed. My computer can handle over 60 frames, but I am perfectly content with getting only 60 now. Please God anything but 30.... EDIT: I forgot to mention that I have messed with NVIDIA Control Panel in the past.. So if I need to show those settings I will. Thanks in advanced, Jayy Edited August 26, 2017 by SirJayy
nightscrawl
If you're going to be messing with the inis, don't use the game with the launcher. Make a shortcut to SkyrimSE.exe and use that instead. I think making them "read only" might also work.

Thanks in advanced, JayyOkay so I made a shortcut that was directly from SkyrimSE.exe.. Then I changed the Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini to a different one. Used the shortcut to open....... Launcher still opened and detected my settings again. So then I tried to launch it by directly clicking on SkyrimSE.exe, not SkyrimSELauncher.exe, but the correct one and the launcher still opened...
