SkyTaylor21
So I'm attempting to create an effect similar to one that I saw in the game SOMA. In SOMA there is a part where you get close to a robot and the camera gets all weird. I've spent about 3 days trying to do it with vanilla skyrim assets and haven't had much luck. You can see what I'm talking about in this video. at 32:08 Does anyone know how to make an effect similar to this one? I don't want something so futuristic and robotic but just something that distorts the camera, like an imod or something. Unfortunately, I don't know how to use imods so I may need a little help with that. My original thought was to use a CameraAttachFX trigger but none of them seem to distort the camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
nerdofprey
I don't have a ton of experience with imagespace modifiers but I know there are a lot of effects like this in the game and in other mods. One of the most extreme ones is the effect when you read an elder scroll; it not only has distortion but it uses a specific texture overlay. If I were trying to do something similar I'd start by reverse-engineering that effect.
SkyTaylor21
I believe i've tried that one but didn't like it as much. How would i go about reverse enginering the effect?
nerdofprey
I just mean look at how it's made in the CK, make a copy of it and start messing with the values, find where it's pointing to a texture and replace it... It's sort of trial and error.
