Shwangk Posted March 3, 2012 Share Posted March 3, 2012 Basically, i was going crazy for like a week cause my Skyrim broke. When I reinstalled i put my Skyrim in My Games instead of Programs 86. But when I'd manually throw mods in my DATA, only the mods that didn't need Data Files checking worked, Data files wouldn't show up, only the Skyrim.esp. Frustrated, i Deleted the 86 folder of Elder Scrolls. Then later I looked into my Skyrim Launcher, the Skyrim.esp was gone... I restored the Skyrim 86, It came back. My fix was to put mods Data files inside my My Games folder AND the 86. Checked the Data Files in Skyrim Launcher and they showed up. This my be a registry problem, but I'm not fixing this since it works now. Thought I'd share my Fix. Love y'all. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MShoap13 Posted March 3, 2012 Share Posted March 3, 2012 If you're interested in fixing your game, manually delete the installation you put in \My Documents\My Games\ and then use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall Skyrim. It will automatically scan for and ask if you'd like to remove leftover registry keys. Then reboot, and I personally recommend moving Steam to a location that UAC doesn't affect (C:\Games\ for example) and then reinstalling Skyrim. This may help prevent issues with modding in the future along with saving you the headache and hard drive space of your current situation.
