Dark Brotherhood Bug - Next of Kin Mission

I have reloaded Oblivion; have tried the DB missions with and without mods loaded; and I still get the same resulting bug on the Next of Kin Mission.

 

After completing the Dead Drop #1 mission I travel to Chorrol and find the old sack with my reward and Dead Drop #2 orders at the Great Oak.

 

THE PROBLEM: My game doesn't update with the mission for killing Celedaen in the "Affairs of a Wizard" as being completed and thus I cannot begin the mission of killing off the Draconis family.

 

How can I correct this? I really believe that my game isn't updating my mission status for Dead Drop #1 once I collect my reward at the tree - but that is a guess.

 

Any suggestions in correcting this would be greatly appreciated.

There is a console command to force the game to move to the next step in a quest, but unfortunately I do not know it. Hopefully someone will post it for you.

You could try using the console command:

player.setstage (quest name) [stage]

 

where (quest name) is Dark10SpecialWizard

stages:

10 = "I have received my new orders... kill Celedaen..."

20 = "I have discovered the journal of the Necromancer Celedaen..."

30 = "Celedaen is dead...."

100 = "I have picked up my reward and received my next contract."

 

The next DB quest is: Dark11Kin

stage 10 = "I have received my new orders from Lucien Lachance. I must kill every member of the Draconis family..."

 

that should bring you to the beginning of the Next of Kin quest...
