Matterspourington
Hi, I have an incredibly frustrating problem, when I drop an item from my inventory it flies out like a boomerang and kills any living thing it hits, including me! I find myself trying to rid my encumbrance and shed some weight, only to find war hammers and shields and whatever other items I may have chosen to drop, flying all directions and killing me instantly. I have removed all of my mods and have installed the game fresh to no avail. Any mods/fixes or any help at all is much appreciated! Thanks!!
ThoraxeTheImpaler
Try using the console command "tgm" see if it still hurts you.
Matterspourington
Obviously not, but I'd rather not have to enable god mode every time I want to empty my inventory. I could turn off collision as well but that is just a work-around and not a fix. ;) I re-installed the game again this morning, deleting registry keys and whatnot.. I think the newest update - which is installed automatically by steam - may have something to do with it.
eltucu
Do you have for some reason iPresentInterval disabled? Or V Sync forced off in driver settings? Dont do that. Its bad for business... and Havok.
Matterspourington
Do you have for some reason iPresentInterval disabled? Or V Sync forced off in driver settings? Dont do that. Its bad for business... and Havok. iPresentInterval=1 and nVidia control panel is just on "use application settings". I tried forcing VSync on just in case, but that didn't do anything either so changed it back to default.
eltucu
Then no idea... You could say that you're so deadly that when you trow stuff around, always someone gets killed.
Matterspourington
SOLVED! (Kind of..) I think I've diagnosed the issue and it does appear to be VSync after all, but not in the way you'd expect! VSync was turned off as I've recently installed the graphics drivers (in fact I've just recently built the computer so everything was fresh), but I used an old save which was saved while VSync was on. It appears that if you turn VSync on and save the game, it bakes the bug into the save, so that no matter what you do, the problem will always persist in that save! Fortunately for me this particular save was brand new and near the start of the game, it was only meant as character template for a new game once I was bored of my main one, so I didn't lose any progress. I just hope this hasn't happened to my main character (avatar), I have no idea what to do if it has! If anyone knows how to work miracles with save files please do let me know.. Thanks anyway! Edited March 5, 2012 by Matterspourington
ProjectVRD
Yeah I had this problem, it killed Lydia. Had too many things, needed to drop a steel warhammer... it flew out like a bat out of hell and smacked her square in the face, the poor cow was flung across the room like a ragdoll and instantly died after boucing off the wall.
