lordbevan1
I need help. I heard somewhere that the red exclamation point means some component is missing, but I can't figure out what it is. The textures are in steam/.../Data/textures and the .nif file is in /meshes. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/63798/? is the .nif file. If you could point out my mistake, I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Edited September 1, 2017 by lordbevan1
dubiousintent
The mesh (.nif) file contains the name and path to the texture (.dds) file. The red exclamation point indicates the game can't find the mesh file of the object called for by the ESP/ESM plugin file. Please see the 'Solutions to Mesh (Red "!" icon) or Texture (solid color) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. -Dubious-
Deleted1205226User
Could you give a little more context, please? Is it from mod installation or are trying to view a nif you've made? I cant find the included mentioned nif.

Deleted1205226User
hmm, not the best practice to upload a knowingly broken file to the public with only Yadda yadda as description. I suggest you set the file to hidden and upload your broken mesh to a share site (Google drive, media fire, etc) and post the link in the thread asking for help with a description of what you're attempting, the step you've made, what you are supposed to see, what you're actually seeing, etc.
