CBBE Armors - Exotic vs. Mundane

So I'm aware there are a fair few mods out there right now that either completely remove armors (nude) or replace them with something just completely ludicrous, as in they make no practical sense. Many, many RPGs out there feature vanilla armors that both show off the feminine form AND look like they are practical for everyday use (with a modest suspense of disbelief obviously).

First, I'd like applaud Bethesda for breaking the mold in this fashion. Of course they aren't the first, but I still can respect that they didn't specifically cater their armors to the raging-hormone crowd. However, as I belong to the raging hormone crowd  , I'll admit freely that I would like to see some modest curvature, perhaps even a tiny bit of skin when it comes to female versions of standard and exotic armors. Armors like Dynasty, nocturnal robe packs like the Art of Magicka are all fine and good, but they are quite over-the-top in my opinion.

Let me try to clarify my opinion: If one were to consider mods like, the 'Light' (haha) Daedric Armor 'R'-rated and Dynasty Armors 'PG-13', I'm on the lookout for mods that would fall somewhere between 'PG-13' and 'PG'. A fantastic example of this is the mod 'Eisen Platte Armor' uploaded by KURESE. As I said, a bit of skin, acknowledgement of curves, but still maintaining some modesty. That said, the anime theme isn't totally my cup of tea, but at the moment there really aren't any other mods that are a good fit. echo 1162 uploaded some that are almost what I'm looking for, but they are still a bit overzealous for my tastes (no doubt very high-quality nonetheless). I'm one of those people who downloaded CBBE, but kept the breast cup-sizes, hips, waist, and buttocks within a range that is more natural.

A second concern would be clothes and robes, but I'd honestly be happy with just making the vanilla clothes compatible with CBBE (replacers, not new models). Of course, I'm not holding my breath there, since most people wouldn't see any point in doing the work to make them compatible without actually altering them to show more skin per se.

Let me emphasize I am not criticizing any of the authors of the mods I have mentioned, just trying to clarify the ideal that I am reaching for here. Obviously, I'm not expecting anyone to adhere to my tastes if they disagree. And of course, I wouldn't expect anyone to make mods just because I say so. I acknowledge that individuals and teams of individuals spend considerable time on these mods. All I'm asking is if someone knows of a mod(s) that might be what I'm looking for, if they could be so kind as to point me in the right direction. That's all I'm saying.

I totally agree with you. There are not enough armor mods for us "realism lovers", and I still can't understand that "less is more" tension in armor modding.

I know that I'm asking for too much, but it would be best if there were versions of same armors and clothes (f.e. realistic, skimpy .. ) and then everybody would be happy.

Also, I don't know if it is just me or more people feel the same, I am kinda disappointed that Skyrim modding is wading off from a realistic approach on things towards more Epic Fantasy or Sexy Fantasy style. I know, Skyrim is already an Epic Fantasy RPG, but some greater doses of realism in mods would give a very nice balance.

Skimpy armor reminds me of the tryhard MMOs that use them in ADs to grab attention. Yes, I'm ignoring Tera Online because of that. I'm not a fan of mod dependency either, remember downloading a companion mod for Dragon Age and needing a total of 4 cosmetic mods to use it, because the characters used one single item from one such mod each it seems. Armor looking like armor is the about the only thing Dragon Age 2 did right to name an example.

I'd like to see some armor that look their armor rating, that is compatible with the vanilla body and works on all characters, even males.

I am not, however, going to rage about it and downrate mods, because I merely dislike, i.e. don't hate.

If you do like having armor rated underwear, then I don't judge you. You are, in fact, in luck as you have a lot to choose from, even more if you don't give two shits about lore-friendlyness.

I share the OP's sentiment exactly. The Eisen Armor and the Witcher's Triss armor are the only 2 that I have seen so far that I like. I am not a very big fan of Killer Keos, because IMO it looks like someone took the vanilla armors and just cut a circle out around the mid section and cut the bottom off at the bottom of the butt cheek...

All that said, I am no real modder. I dont have any clue how to model armor or make textures. I realize how difficult and time consuming it must be and have respect for the people that have those skills and have no problem with them creating the armor that they like. Not everyone share's my opinion. I'm just saying that I am impatiently waiting for some modest modders to come along and create some PG-13-ish feminine/sexy armors that dont necessarily nuke the lore of TES. (example - I love the Lightning Armor look, but it just doesnt fit well into the game. Eisen and Triss are about as far away from lore as I would really care to go. Its the same reason I dont carry around Ragnarok or the Buster Sword ;)

Anyways, I await the excellent modding community's future modest female armor mods!

The only real good armors I think are those made by DizzasterJuice for sexy/skimpy replacers and the Witcher ports for realistic new. all the rest... No thanks. As for all the sexy/skimpy outfits including Keos? No thanksagain! they look ridiculous with 3/4 of the original texture removed with an alpha channel. One thing thats been annoying me is all the JRPG/Anime style armor and weapons thats been cropping up lately. This is not FF7 or Naruto or Dragon Ball Z!

*edit

Caliente has released a vanilla armor pack that is compatible with vanilla textures(replacers) and the CBBE body slider tool.
