VarusNV
I uninstalled New Vegas a while ago after buying all the large DLC (no GRA or Courier's Stash). A few months ago, I reinstalled the game with all the DLC and rebuilt my collection of mods. I will happily provide anyone interested with a load order list, but to post it without prompting would mean a wall of text that everyone would have to scroll through so I figured I would save the trouble until the next post or so. Anyway, the point is that whenever I start up a new DLC quest, as in go to the location where the DLC launches from and get as far as the slideshow, the game crashes immediately after the slideshow loading screen. I have no idea why this happens. With some luck I was able to get Old World Blues past the slideshow and finished it without further incident, however now I am totally unable to get any further in Honest Hearts past Jed Masterson's opening lines in Zion, and I haven't tried Dead Money yet; I've only gotten to the silo entrance in the very first cell of Lonesome Road, but so far no problems there. Please, someone, anyone, give me some advice here; I read through what topics there were available on here about people encountering a similar problem with Dead Money and no one on there seemed able to fix the problem with the usual steps of checking mods for incompatibilities, revalidating the Steam cache, &c. Gribbleshnibit8
Check out Delay DLC. I also provide optional files that will skip the slideshows, and I have had reports that this gets around any crashes associated with them.
VarusNV
Well the mod does skip the slideshow, but the crash still happens after the loading screen to Zion. Jed will say a few words, and then the game crashes. I don't understand why this is happening now; the last time I had New Vegas and the DLC it worked fine. I appreciate the help, Gribbleshnibit8, however I think something else is causing the problem.

There are a few mods that were done without the author having the DLC so sometimes there's problem solely due to that. Though you can just go read the mod author's pages, and see if they have any listed incompatibilities. and if there's nothing on any of them there's really no telling what's causing it. I had an issue with Rhino revolver causing me to crash when I walked out of the starter house, and all that does is add a single gun.
VarusNV
Alright, I have my load order exported from FOMM as a .txt file, I'm assuming that's all I have to do? Also, out of curiosity would NVEdit be able to find which mod, if any, was causing the problem? If so, how would I go about checking that? My experience with the program is solely with making merged patches.
VarusNV
I'm not sure how helpful this is, but I used the coc console command to move to the Zion Visitor's Booth in order to see Divine7's Zion Autumn Estate (the whole reason I wanted to go to Zion in the first place). I was able to travel to the mod-added building fine and I entered several interior and exterior cells without crashes. Apparently the only time Honest Hearts will crash for me is when I'm trying to get there the "normal" way. Again, I'm not sure if this will help solve the problem but I thought I should comment on it.
Gribbleshnibit8
Yeah, that could be helpful. It could be that one of your mods had edited dialog or a script that runs when entering Zion the 'normal' way, and that edit is unstable or incorrect, causing the crash. What you can do to check is just load up all your mods in FNVEdit, and expand out Honest Hearts. You'd be looking for the dialog and script sections, to see what mods are changing anything associated with the name MQ00 or MQ01 (most likely). Have you tried turning off all of your mods that edit HH to see if you still have a problem? On a somewhat unrelated note, your Selective Fire - Project Nevada.esp is no longer needed under the newest version 1.26 of Selective Fire. The newest version incorporates all the DLC patches into the main file with NVSE, removing the need for separate files.
VarusNV
Sorry for the delay, it's midterms time for me and I've been busy. Anyway, I checked all the dialogue entries that showed up for Honest Hearts in NVSE (there were no entries that appeared for scripts) and found that the entry for "NVDLC02JoshuaAboutZion" was in red and The Lucky 38 Empire was causing the conflict. I also found that Sierra Madre 2.2 was causing a yellow tint for all of the GREETING entries for Honest Hearts including "NVDLC02DialogueCaravanMaster [QUST:02009403]." Now, I'm no expert with NVSE but I would have to assume that's where the problem is coming from since I can't find any other dialogue conflicts with Jed Masterson's name/career on them. Still, what does yellow mean and how do I fix this? Edit: I tried going to Zion with Sierra Madre 2.2 deactivated, but the game still crashed where it usually does. Gribbleshnibit8
The red one is the major issue. Did you try going through the area with both Sierra Madre 2.2 and The Lucky 38 Empire disabled?
VarusNV
Yes, I've already tried going to Zion with both Sierra Madre 2.2 and The Lucky 38 Empire turned off, but the same result occurs.
