BradtheMighty
Exactly what it says on the tin: on both the player character and NPCs, whenever a cloak is equipped, an armor cuirass cannot be equipped... and vice versa, Forcing half the population of Skyrim to run around in their skivvies. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both of my cloak mods and the chesko camping mod (which includes a few cloaks). It does not matter the mod that the cloak comes from or what kind of armor is being equipped. In addition, I know for sure that the armor does not just cease to exist, because it's still in their inventory, just sitting there cuz the capes have priority. This makes for some really awkward encounters.This is my total load order, please halp: 0 0 Skyrim.esm1 1 Update.esm2 2 Dawnguard.esm3 3 HearthFires.esm4 4 Dragonborn.esm5 5 Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp6 6 WM Flora Fixes.esp7 7 RSkyrimChildren.esm8 8 BSAssets.esm9 9 BSHeartland.esm10 a Lanterns Of Skyrim - All In One - Main.esm11 b SkyTEST-RealisticAnimals&Predators.esm12 c Campfire.esm13 d HighResTexturePack01.esp14 e HighResTexturePack02.esp15 f HighResTexturePack03.esp16 10 Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp17 11 The Dance of Death - Ultimate Edition.esp18 12 Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul.esp19 13 Weapons & Armor Fixes_Remade.esp20 14 Clothing & Clutter Fixes.esp21 15 CollegeOfWinterholdImmersive.espWeaponsArmorFixes_ImmersiveWeapons_Patch.esp22 16 Weapons & Armor_TrueWeaponsLvlLists.esp23 17 Immersive Sounds - Compendium.esp24 18 Sky Haven Temple and Onsen.esp25 19 Settlements Expanded.esp26 1a SoS - The Wilds.esp27 1b Birdsofskyrim.esp28 1c SoS - Civilization.esp29 1d SoS - The Dungeons.esp30 1e BattleAftermath.esp31 1f BetterQuestObjectives.esp32 20 ESFCompanions.esp33 21 aMidianBorn_ContentAddon.esp34 22 Complete Crafting Overhaul_Remade.esp35 23 WetandCold.esp36 24 Complete Alchemy & Cooking Overhaul.esp37 25 HearthFire Display Case Fix.esp38 26 Relationship Dialogue Overhaul.esp39 27 Book Covers Skyrim.esp40 28 Thieves Guild Requirements.esp41 29 more idle markers.esp42 2a TheChoiceIsYours.esp43 2b wildlingsofskyrim1.5.esp44 2c Dogs-of-Skyrim.esp45 2d The Honored Dead.esp46 2e Cloaks.esp47 2f CFTO.esp48 30 Expanded 1.4.esp49 31 sandboxcylinderheight.esp50 32 SimplyKnock.esp51 33 Chesko_LoreBasedLoadingScreens.esp52 34 AnonymousPeople.esp53 35 WetandCold - Ashes.esp54 36 Unique BOOZE Bottles.esp55 37 AMB Glass Variants Lore.esp56 38 Differently Ebony.esp57 39 aMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.esp58 3a UniqueWeaponsRedone.esp59 3b NonEssentialChildren.esp60 3c Skyrim Sizes.esp61 3d SkyUI.esp62 3e TradeBarter.esp63 3f JaxonzEnhGrab.esp64 40 dD - Enhanced Blood Main.esp65 41 dD-Dragonborn-Dawnguard-EBT Patch.esp66 42 Immersive Horses.esp67 43 DawnguardArsenal.esp68 44 RSChildren - Complete.esp69 45 RSChildren_PatchNEC.espRSChildren_PatchUSKP.esp70 46 Improved Dragon Shouts.esp71 47 Improved Dragon Shouts - Dawnguard.esp72 48 Improved Dragon Shouts - Dragonborn.esp73 49 Signs_of_Skyrim.esp74 4a Smithing Perks Overhaul_Remade.esp75 4b ISCompendium Enhanced Blood Patch.esp76 4c ISC WAFR Patch.esp77 4d BetterQuestObjectives-DBForevertoMisc.esp78 4e BetterQuestObjectives-NECPatch.esp79 4f Extended UI.esp80 50 Beards.esp81 51 dD-No Spinning Death Animation Merged.esp82 52 ArchmageRobeTweak.esp83 53 dD - Realistic Ragdoll Force - Realistic.esp84 54 Dawnguard Hoods and Replacer.esp85 55 Dawnguard Hoods.esp86 56 Unique Uniques.esp87 57 DSerArcheryGameplayOverhaul.esp88 58 DisableFastTravel.esp89 59 PrvtIRoyalArmory.esp90 5a The Paarthurnax Dilemma.esp91 5b summersetisles.esp92 5c CFTO-Lanterns.esp93 5d CFTO-CoveredCarriages.esp94 5e TheEyesOfBeauty.esp95 5f Appropriately Attired Jarls Redux.esp96 60 ogDiverseDragons2.esp97 61 FISS.esp98 62 LessIntrusiveHUD.esp99 63 AMatterOfTime.esp100 64 WSCO - OcciFemaleVNL.esp101 65 WSCO - OcciMaleVNL.esp102 66 WSCO - Better NPCs.esp103 67 Starting Spell Choice.esp104 68 CACO_True Fortify Effects for Magic Skills.espBetterQuestObjectives-AMBSkyforgePatch.esp105 69 Lore Weapon Expansion - Daedric Crescent.esp106 6a SolitudeTempleFrescoes.esp107 6b Lore Weapon Expansion - Relics of the Crusader.esp108 6c Logical Civil War Armor.esp109 6d LostGrimoire.esp110 6e PumpingIron.esp111 6f Immersive Horses - Hearthfire Patch.esp112 70 Immersive Speechcraft.esp113 71 TailArmors_REPLACER.esp114 72 HallgarthAdditionalHair.esp115 73 SaturationBoost.esp116 74 Krev The Skinner's Mantle by Hothtrooper44.esp117 75 Shields of Jorrvaskr by Hothtrooper44.esp118 76 Daedric Mage Armor.esp119 77 Imperial Mage Armor by Natterforme.esp120 78 Dragon Bone Mage Armor.esp121 79 Ebony Mage Armor.esp122 7a Glass Mage Armor Skyrim Vanilla.esp123 7b Glass Mage Armor Ashlander Silver.esp124 7c Glass Mage Armor Outlander Gold.esp125 7d MageBackpack_byTumbajamba.esp126 7e 1nivWICCloaks.esp1nivWICSkyCloaksPatch.esp127 7f Cloaks - Dawnguard.esp128 80 UsefulDogs.esp129 81 QuieterDogs.esp130 82 Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp131 83 Patch - Starting Spell Choice - Live Another Life.esp132 84 BetterQuestObjectives-AlternateStartPatch.esp
saurusmaximus
Have you tried turning off the equip cloaks feature for NPCs on Wet and Cold?
BradtheMighty
Ideally, I'd be able to keep the cloaks on my NPCs. And it also doesn't fix the fact that I can't keep cloaks on my player character. Edited September 10, 2017 by BradtheMighty
saurusmaximus
That's fine, but did you actually try my suggestion? What I'm getting at, is there may be an issue with the cloak textures that come with the mod.
SwiftDeathSK
If I'm understanding the situation correctly, the armor and the capes are being equipped to the same slot. I'm fairly certain the capes normally use a free slot that is not typically assigned in the base game, so my guess is that you have a mod that has changed the slot number for either the capes or the body armor. Unfortunately I am not familiar with most of those armor mods. But, it's a start to help solve this issue.(http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Skyrim_bodyparts_number) I have noticed that you don't have a bashed patch or a TES5Edit Merged Patch in your load order. Again, not the most experienced with modding so I can't say with any confidence that this would help your particular issue, but I would use Wrye Bash and TES5Edit to make a bashed patch and a merged patch. Regardless of if it solves this particular issue, it's just good practice for modding large numbers of mods together in general.

What I'm getting at, is there may be an issue with the cloak textures that come with the mod.Yes I did try it, sorry, I shoulda included that in the original statement. I'm not a super experienced modder, but as far as I understand it, it's not a texture issue. The textures of the capes can be rendered, but only when a chest armor is not equipped. BradtheMighty
Update, clothes, and clothes-equivalents like robes do not have the same effect: IE a character can wear a cloak and a set of common clothes at the same time with no consequence. You should have a Bashed Patch regardless of whether it fixes this particular issue or not. Wrye Bash isn't that hard to use, there are plenty of tutorials out there to help. Grospolina
There are quite a few things wrong with your load order, and most of them are things that I had just recently fixed up on my game. aMidianBorn - Book of Silence - Content Addon has a whole list of things that need doing and none of it is listed on the Description page. Instead, you have to go to the Posts page and read the stickies, and then go to the forum page and read the first post. Among the items are:Get the 3 hotfixes and overwrite the original filesManually rename the Textures\actors\dlc02\ash directory to ashmanManually move and enable the Improved Closefaced Helmets patch (imp_helm_legend.esp) if you're using that modDisable aMidianborn_Skyforge_Weapons.esp, Differently Ebony.esp and AMB Glass Variants Lore.espSince you're using Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade (CCOR), you can disable these:1nivWICCloaks.esp1nivWICSkyCloaksPatch.espCloaks.espCloaks - Dawnguard.espYou can then go into the MCM menu for CCOR and enable compatibilty there. I doubt that it's causing your cloak bug though. I've left them on before and it seemed fine. The latest version of RS Children Overhaul no longer comes with a patch for Non-Essential Children. Now the author recommends either enabling the Playable patch (included in the installer) or installing Immersive Children. You can then get rid of Non-Essential Children, RSChildren_PatchNEC.esp and BetterQuestObjectives-NECPatch.esp. Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul has a lot of compatibility patches and load order requirements. The only one I noticed that applies to you is that it should be below Alternate Start but still above Relationship Dialogue Overhaul. I guess you should move up Alternate Start. The Dance of Death - A Killmove Mod is somewhat buggy and no longer supported by its author. Instead, you can use VioLens - A Killmove Mod, which has similar features. And as previously mentioned, you definitely need a Bashed Patch. Also, you're not using SMIM? Edited September 14, 2017 by Grospolina
