Trouble getting mods to work. >.<

Recommended Posts

I just downloaded Oblivion today; I've never had a gaming PC, but I played tons of Oblivion on the ps3. I really wanted to try modding it, though, so I downloaded it and was pleasantly surprised to find that it just barely runs on pretty much the lowest settings. I downloaded a number of mods, followed the instructions on how to extract them and active them using the mod manager, etcetera etcetera. I downloaded a custom race and the custom race fix, as well as the unofficial oblivion patch, among some other mods that are relevant to my interests.

However, I've tried multiple times and every time I've started up a new game, I don't have the option of picking a custom race (I'm only given the ugly default races, no other options) and I don't think any other mods took effect, either. Why is this? I have the game mounted using daemontools, all my mods are located in my data folder as they should be, and I don't think I did anything particularly wrong when I installed it. I have it installed under program files, if that makes any difference. And my OS is Windows 7.

Is it a safe bet that I need to try reinstalling it? What's the best way to go about uninstalling it? I clicked on the uninstall option but I hesitated because the only option was apparently to completely remove Oblivion from my system. And I didn't want to have to back up all the mods I downloaded and go through everything again without being relatively sure about what I was doing. Help would be GREATLY appreciated! Like I said, I've never been much of a PC gamer. Stuff like this can be pretty frustrating for me.

I took a couple screenshots; one of my list of mods (maybe I'm doing something wrong, I can't tell), and one of the results I got when I tried a "new conflict scan". Wasn't really sure what to make of it. If someone could pleeeease help, that would be just awesome. :'D

The best way to get it to work...is to buy the game. User banned.
