maxisthebest1
Hi, so i recently decided to do a run through of NV again and have encountered a frustrating issue... the NCR armour constantly changes!!!!! Sometimes there is no design, other times there is half of a Merc outfit and half black and so on! i have tired uninstalling all mods, verifying the integrity of my game files (which steam said one failed to verify) and then i decided to uninstall and reinstall to no avail. P.S. the only thing currently running will be NVSE and all the DLC's! any help would be much appreciated as i have found no one else with this problem. thanks!!!! dubiousintent
"Currently running" is not the same as "uninstalled". Merely deactivating plugins is often not enough. Texture issues involve replacement of complete files. The problem described can arise from the same mesh referencing the texture in two different BSA files. The game does not have a mechanism to deal with that situation, so it randomly grabs from one or the other. [Edit: See 'Issue: Textures randomly change only on particular items' in the "Troubleshooting" guide linked below: "Graphics" section.] Did you install Steam to it's default location? If so, please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" folder tree is bad and "disabling UAC and running as Administrator" is NOT sufficient, with instructions how to move it. This is the single most important thing you can do to fix and protect yourself against problems in the future. We REALLY need to see your sorted "load order" as produced by LOOT. With modded games, its the sequence, not merely the list of mods, which is the cause of many problems. Instructions are in the "How to ask for help" article, and "Checklist Item #11' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.
