hjs4
Hi all, I am a novice at mods have only installed a few. I tried back in oblivion but only ended up using OOO because I kept screwing something up and either a texture would be missing or going to certain area's would crash my game. Is there any place there is a good introduction to all the tools I should use and how to use them? I am looking for something very easy to understand. I see a lot of lingo being used all over and I find it very confusing. I really enjoyed my time in Skyrim and I hope to add to it through the use of mods. Any advice is appreciated. I keep looking at STEP and I really want to give it a try but I am afraid to attempt it due to lack of instruction on how you actually install mods and the such. I know that sounds dumb but I am real novice and I don't want to screw up. Thanks. Edited March 5, 2012 by hjs4
scrivener07
I would highly recommend using a mod manager like the Nexus Mod Manager. Its not a magic bullet but its enough to get started. How are you currently installing mods and what do you already know?
hjs4
I know of the Mod manager and I can use that to load mods, but on the STEP site it suggests not to use it. Does it have any conflicts with steam? I had been loading by hand.
