Mod Request: Sole survivor character name change

Hi all,

I just completed all my FO4 steam achievements (didn't know there's a mod could bypass it) and started playing with mods with a brand new character about a week or so. As my unmoded character had a railroad ending, I'd think that would be great to try more different endings during my moded gameplay.

However, it's gonna really take a while on doing the main quest line to reach the turning points, where you can choose which faction you'll side with (i.e. The Molecular Level, Mass Fusion, Airship Down, Tactical Thinking, etc). And I have noticed there're TWO points you can rename the sole survivor thus all the subsequent saves you made after such point will be saved under a new character name.

The two points you can change the name for the sole survivor are:

1. Pre-war time when you first met the vault-tec rep. Any save(s) made before this point will be saved for an unnamed character and you can find it in-game in the load menu.

2. Post-war time when step on the elevator platform of Vault 111 before actually entering the game world. Saves made before this point will be saved under a named character whose name is what you registered to the vault-tec rep. But as soon as you got the pip-boy and step on the elevator platform, there's a window pops up to allow change your name for the last time, and this name will last for the rest of your game. So any saves made after exiting Vault 111 will be all under the same character.

As I mentioned above, I believe it would be great to have a mod to allow player(s) to change the name of sole survivor after exiting Vault 111. Just like the pop-up window before exiting Vault 111, player(s) can use such mod to change the sole survivor's names at several critical turning points in order to generate a new directory for all subsequent saves under a new character name that can be easily distinguished when you load a game.

For example, without this mod, for those who wanted to experience a different ending, they'll have to start a new character and redo all the prerequisites until reaching the turning point(s). OR, make a manual save at such point (i.e. before Mass Fusion) and try different outcomes. However, starting a new character is really time consuming and manual save(s) under the same character name/directory is difficult to distinguish only based on the screenshots. One can easily forget what they did for that save and all subsequent saves can be completely mixed up because they'll share a common total elapsed gametime for the same character, which is the only clue to remember what you have done on a saved game other than the pre-view screenshot.

With this mode installed, using the Mass Fusion example again, one can rename the sole survivor at this point. Let's say my original name for the sole survivor is Nate, here I can rename my sole survivor as Dr. Nate if I side with the institute, and all subsequent saves will go under the directory of "Dr. Nate". On the other hand, if I wish to try the BOS ending I can simply rename my sole survivor as Elder Nate and all subsequent saves go under the directory of "Elder Nate". Similarly, save all subsequent gameplays with the railroad endings under "Agent Nate", raider endings under "Overboss Nate", and minuteman ending under "General Nate", etc.

Moreover, playing with new character name(s) will not only allow you to branch out the storyline to different endings, but also allow you to setup different character builds. Like once I got all the necessary crafting perks and I can rename my sole survivor to different combat playstyles, melee, ballistic, energy, you name it.

So the idea is simply like that: If you want to experience a different story ending or a different character build, then just rename the sole survivor at the point you like. Next time you start the game, you can simply load a game by selecting its corresponding character name.

Would anyone like to make this happen? I believe there will be more than just me to appreciate it. Thanks for reading.
