SkjoldBjorn
Well i was just thinking...I started a making a modders cell for my own use, I use this cell to make custom bookshelves, alternative meshes and so on.a lot in this cell is custom made, some of the items i made with blender, mostly just modified already excisting vanilla meshes, but i did this to better fit the purpose i was using it for, also custom textures on some items and alternate vertex colors.I was thinking about sharing this as a resource to all modders, but not just me sharing with all of you, i was thinking about having a small group of people who can cooperate on this modders cell. Not a project at all, but if you got ideas for custom furniture, statics, meshes or new textures, maybe you even have a few things you already made for yourself and maybe even share this on the nexus right now.So the basic idea is to give a group of modders including myself access to a plugin that will be updated whenever someone in said group have made something new that they want to share they will add this to the plugin, change the version number and add any changes made to the Updated section of the plugin site. The group of modders who want to join in on this will have unrestricted access and can update and change the site if they feel this is necesarry. Originally the idea was to give everyone free access to make it a "open-resource", but it would probably bring more problems than it's worth...eventually at least, if someone would decide to troll the plugin there would be nothing stopping them from doing so. So to have a certain quality to the plugin it would be better to have a group of modders who have only the modders best interest in mind. I know That Bethesda added warehouses that we can use, for somethings, but i felt that we could have even more. The general idea is: To add any non-excisting interior furniture : like creative ways to make a bookshelf, weaponrack and so on, it does not have to be a custom mesh, but just creative ways to add new statics or furniture.Custom meshes could be added if that is a wish, i have added some of mine, however these are modified vanilla meshes that i just dragged through blender for a quick edit. I can understand if people don't want to share their 100% custom made meshes this way.Adding alternative textures to different statics, furnitures and so on.Custom lights (that would be colors that does not excist yet)Scripts ( always start these with "default" just to make it easier to find or they can be specific if they are made to run on specific items you added to the modders cell)Sounds/musicTesting rooms (coc ingame to test the ability of your custom creation or trigger for example)Anything that will give us legal issues is not allowed of course, it's a modders resource, but adding things that we don't own will be frowned upon, so we follow the general rules of nexus to the letter. The plugin site should have a section for each modder who participate, so whenever you update the file, you add the changes you've done under your name so everyone know what changes belongs to who. keep in mind that there are no strings attatched, it just gives you the oppertunity to share on a resource for everyone and enjoi anything other modders added to the cell. Normal rules apply when it comes to permissions, anything added should be properly traced back to this plugin so your work does not go unoticed or that people who did not make it gets credit for your work. This is purely something i thought of to make it easier for everyone if they want to download any modding resource instead downloading a ton of different mods and ask all the authors if you can use some of it, im aware that not all sites can be merged, im just saying that we can have more in one place this way, as i said earlier, i understand that people want to keep some creations for themselves on their own plugin site, this is 100% understandable. Since the steam workshop is up, this idea will be a lot easier to use. modders will have their resource plugin updated on the whim and if the ones who keep sharing it don't frag it with things we don't want this will work seamlessly. The only big problem that could occur is if multiple modders update the file within a tight timeline, this could cause one modder to override the changes of another, but one would just have to think of a solution to this. Backing up work and notifying the rest is one. So is this something modders want?I would like people who have a little perfectionist side just to ensure that things added will be added carefully so we don't mess up a great resource. Not only because I want it, but also to make the resource better for everyone.perfection is not a demand, everyone can make mistakes..i know i do on a regular basis. :)
jet4571
Heres my portfolio of items i created for another game. If you see anything in it you would use I can send you the file and you can port it to Skyrim. Most of those wont work but there are a few that could. http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f257/JET-WTF/renders/
