TJames0692
My Fallout 4 game is running between 30-40fps regardless of settings (low, medium, high, ultra, etc) in normally not very taxing areas (opening scene, inside Vault 111). I even tried dropping the settings to low and disabling all of my texture mods and my ENB, which did not help. I'm running quite a number of mods, but none of them (besides the texture mods and ENB) should impact performance too heavily. Here are my relevant system specs:i5-6600k OC'ed to 4.5ghzEVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW @ stock speed16GB of DDR4I am running the optimized vanilla textures. Any tips? TJames0692
Just uninstalled all mods and dropped my settings to low. Same frame rates. This is rather perplexing.
Arneercool
First you unleash your frames in fallout, then you use third party programs to leash them again. In the fallout4prefs ini, located >your pc>documents>my games>fallout4, set iPresentInterval=1 to 0. Save, close and make read only. Then lock your fps at 60 with rivatuner or something similar.Locking them at 60 is important, or the game will flip the board on you. From here on out you need to fine tune your card for stability around 60 fps, that is best done by fiddeling around with your cards special features like adaptive v-sync, g-sync and so on. Here you also need to take into account your screens refresh rate and if you are using multiple monitors. I usually just use n-vidia vanilla control panel for this. If you have a 120htz screen remember to accommodate for that too. Edited September 10, 2017 by Arneercool
