Add a new type of settlement attack were a faction (raiders,...) set up a camp next to one of your settlements. As time goes by the camps will increase in tiers.exampletier 1 - camp still setting up - lots of boxes,resources,...tier 2 - basis defence perimiter, camp fire,...tier 3 - more npc's, better defences,... if a camp gets to tier 2 they will start sending attacks to your settlement. The higher the tier the harder the attacks. Each camp will have a siege leader (special named npc). In order to destroy the camp you have to kill the leader. I think this would work really well with sim settlements to make the settlement impact gameplay more. offcourse this is just an idea.
