MotherGOOSE76
Im attempting to make a mod for a youtuber, Caedo Genesis, and wanted to take his new vegas character he used is all his guides and put him into the game as a companion. The issue being how do i go about making his face. Ive tried recreating it in the geck but it didnt work out, so i asked him if he could send me his save he used for the videos and see if i could use that and import the character into the geck so i could use the face. Im guessing i cant do this seeing as its a .bak file and wont open without some special file opener or something like that. Basically i need to make his face but dont know how. Any suggestions could help thanks ahead of time!
dubiousintent
A ".bak" file is just a renamed version of the original (for "backup" purposes). In the case of a FNV save game, that would be a ".fos" extension. FNV "autosaves" just add it to the "fos" extension (e.g. "Autosave.fos.bak"), so removing it from the last period to the end should be all you need to do. You will need a tool such as "FaceGen Save Face Ripper for FNVEdit" by xatmos to extract the FaceGen data. (That's merely the first hit I found when searching on "FaceGen data".) -Dubious- Edited September 14, 2017 by dubiousintent
