Coccodio
Hello, I recently downloaded Skyrim after many years of not playing it. Soon after starting playing i noticed a very annoying issue with the light system. Here's the video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRGlD0iF5d0 Basically, as you can see, torches and other sources of light suddenly get brighter once you come close to them. Once this happens they don't go back to their former state if you get far away. However reloading the zone resets them. It is driving me crazy, Skyrim is one of the best games i've ever played, but with this i just can't focus. It's no use installing ELFX if then this happens. This was recorded in Embershard Mine, but it happens in many caves where there are light sources that are supposed to have a flickering effect (like burning fire). Now, i remember that many years ago i had this same problem, and i solved it by changing some parameter in the .ini files: in fact it was caused by the light "trigger" distance being too close, and incresing the number solved the issue.I've been messing with the inis for a couple hours now, and i cant find that fix, so i hoped that someone here knew something about this. This also happens while the game is unmodded, but still, here's my load order:(0 -> 0) Skyrim.esm(1 -> 1) Update.esm(2 -> 2) Dawnguard.esm(3 -> 3) HearthFires.esm(4 -> 4) Dragonborn.esm(5 -> 5) Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp(6 -> 6) HighResTexturePack01.esp(7 -> 7) HighResTexturePack02.esp(8 -> HighResTexturePack03.esp(9 -> 9) Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp(10 -> 10) SkyUI.esp(11 -> 11) Alternate Start - Live Another Life.esp My system specifications are:OS: Windows 10 64 bitCPU: Ryzen 7Ram: 16GBGraphics card: Nvidia GTX 970 Edited September 14, 2017 by Coccodio
Grospolina
Since you're running almost no mods and you're still getting flickering, I'm guessing that the tweak you're looking for is this one: Skyrim.ini: [General] fFlickeringLightDistance=8192 You could also try a value of 4096. I recommend using BethINI to optimize your ini files. It has a lot of good recommended tweaks.
