CyrusAmell
Skyrim is, if anything, very vague on what is the "right" way on how to do quests. On no less than several occassions I have done small quests only to find that there where options hidden from me that I would have preferred. For instance: In My Time Of Need:- Early on I had no idea that Saadia was guilty and not having done everything as necessary Kematu never confronted me when I met him about her identity, so I ended up helping her. The Forsworn Conspiracy:- I didn't know that one of my options was killing Madanach. The Blessings of Nature:- How was I suppose to know that there was a light-side option as opposed to stabbing the ancient holy tree with a profane dagger? Promises to Keep- Had I known that I could have gone to Maven and told her about the Horse deal I would have. My point is that although these are small things that won't actually affect how npc's interact with me, stupid as they are, it bugs the perfectionist within me that I messed up so badly on many of these. If I could go back and do things differently I would, and so I was wondering if it were possible to reset the values necessary to begin a questline anew and make new decisions. kromey
There is a resetquest console command. It does not work as you would like it to. Sorry. :( Bottom line is that quests are strictly one-way streets, and once you take an action in one there's no way to undo it (unless the quest itself lets you, for example after slashing through roots and angering the ancient holy tree you can stop and instead ask for the sapling). Some quests may be redo-able via resetquest, but don't count on it -- all this command does is reset and clear some internal flags and counters, but it doesn't do anything to reset any world events that were changed (e.g. it probably wouldn't put Saadia back where you first found her). Figured as much, would probably take extensive use of the CK to get anything done and even then the work would be very specific. Ah well...
