LooseEnds
I've created a Housecarl for Severin house but I was wondering how to make sure she or he turns up at the house at the right time. I think its one of the condition in the AI packages but I'm not really sure. Can someone give me some directions here. I was also hoping to add a steward to the house as well. I've also install Bayveiw manor and created another housecarl for those premises but I don't want them to become available until I have access to the house. Do I need to attach the Housecarl to the mod or can I have them outside the mod but not active until the mod is enabled. Any sort of help will be much appreciated. thumbincubation
I've never done housecarls, not positive this is how they did it, but I have had some luck with this, with both NPCs and objects. If you place something in the house, but say you don't want it to appear until the house is furnished, you would double click on it, find the enable parent ( I think...going off top of head, am not in ck at the moment) tab, and set the location and enable marker. For guards, it's usually a general location in the top box and something like CWGarrisonEnableMarker... What I'd suggest is open CK and just load skyrim and update, go into breezehome and double click on Lydia, and see if they've used the enable marker for her. If not, then doublecheck her AI packages and factions. I'm not sure, offhand if it will be that or a script of some sort, but if it becomes yours via enable marker, then tying your NPC to the same one should make them not appear until it is triggered. LooseEnds
Thanks Thumb's, yeah I've looked at Lydia and she has a condition in her AI ForceGreet package "GetVMQuestVariable" HousePurchase' Quest is completed" actually Lydia is sandbox in Dragonreach until that HousePurchase is completed and the Jarl makes me Thane of Whiterun. I'll just have a look at e Iona and Jordis because they are there in the house after I've purchased the property so their maybe something like what you suggested. I did follow some of the procedures used with Lydia with the Severin Manor Housecarl I created but because I'd already had Severin house I couldn't see if she was there in the house before it was given to me. With Severin Manor I've actually used a condition "GetVMQuestVariable" "Served Cold" Quest completion and with Bayview Manor I maybe able to use an xmarker linked to the housecarl or a quest to enable the Housecarl in the Greathall. What I may do is have the option there for the Housecarl to become just a follower sandboxing around in the GreatHall until I either obtain Bayview Manor or just have him/her as a follower and the Housecarl packages are not activated. I might even place the "Job Steward Faction" in there faction list so I maybe able to use them as a steward at the Manor. Thanks again for the idea's it given me more food for thoughts to go with, I wasn't thinking far enough outside the box. Thanks mate.
