aarons6
this is exactly what i am doing, but when i save the game, i gotta go back to where i placed the npc and repick it up.. i also have to "set playerfollowercount to 0" every time. i have 3 npcs in my esm, im thinking i have to have an esm per npc?maybe the game is getting confused as to what npc i have following me? edit i just tried it with just ONE npc and it works strange. i will follow up on this in a few.. going to test 2 with separate esm. Personally I would recommend you to edit an existing npc, if that is not what you have been doing already. It is much easiser that way and there are tons of existing npc:s to choose from. All you need to do, after okaying your changes to an existing npc, is highlight their name in the list and press Ctrl+F4, which should create a folder in your textures directory with updated face gen data. aarons6
its not the npc, the npc has no issues at all. i chose all the correct stuff, essential, unique, eventoned voice, gave it some armor, made it defaulteditorlocation512, made it happy and my ally. its not a combatibilty issue as i unchecked all the boxes on all of my mods. mod list is clean except skyrim.esm, update.esm and my followers.esm its an esm issue. when the npc is an esm, the game wont save it along side of me for some reason. works just fine if i keep it an esp. :(when i load the game up, its always where i put it in the world, not where i saved. aarons6
i dont know how to fix this. its kinda bugging me. i made a new file.. one npc, just like that link said to make.followed it step by step.made it an esm, loaded the esm and pushed ctrl-f4 to get the face data. load up the game.. go to where i put the npc, witch is the riverwood inn.told it to follow me. ran out of town.. saved, closed the game.. reload, and the npc is gone.. back to riverwood inn, there it is.. but its saying i already have a follower.. there has to be a way to fix this. aarons6
i figured out what i was doing wrong for anyone that wants to know.. you make the npc and save that as ESMyou place the npc in the wold and save that as ESP you cant place an npc in an ESM.. esms dont get saved in your save file.so anything you place in the wold as an esm, if you move it, it will go back to where you placed it each time the game is loaded.. so for an npc follower to work with correct face texture you have to have both an esm and an esp.
