Aoikani
Occasionally, I have ran into bad mods that create multitudes of problems with uninstalling/reinstalling oblivion because I couldn't fix the damage the mod created, thus creating more problems when no instructions were given how to uninstall the bad mod resulting in system errors. After slapping myself on the head and reading the Readme <shame on myself>, the file provides a ridiculously simple fix. :wallbash: -Installation Issue If you repeatedly uninstall and re-install Oblivion, certain systems will display an error message if you try to uninstall Oblivion again. To fix this, put your Oblivion disk in and run setup.exe. This will clear up the error and you can uninstall and reinstall the game.Aoikani
bben46
Good advice, but even the uninstall on the disk doesn't completely uninstall oblivion. It can leave behind your data folder with any bad mods, your save game folder with any bad saves and some entries in the Windows registry file that are hard to find. I have a uninstall, reinstall help file available that I can post if you need it. it shows how to keep all of your saves, Mods and even your original .ini file. If you follow it, you will end up with a clean install plus a back up clean install. And all of your mods, saves and original .ini in a new location where you can put them back or not as you choose. PM me if you need it. I will be putting it, and more help files, on a new help site later this week.
