Deleted21304489User
I've made an observation and maybe it's more noticeable using MMM, not sure though. I came out of Megaton and went up the road to where I know a Death Claw was still stalking around. Only, he wasn't there when I got there. I saved my game and immediately reloaded and the death claw was there... along with all the other dead bodies, that just kind of plopped back down on the ground when I reloaded. Right after that, I went up the road to where I know there were 3 Mr. Gutsy's gaurding a truck. They were not there, so I saved and re-loaded my game... and Whalla !! They were there again. I'm not sure what this "glitch" is all about, but it's really noticeable. Especially now that I notice it. Anyone else experiencing this, or know what's up? Nothing is there on the initial load, but if you save, or just reload... everything is back. Weird. It's like the cells are not producing monsters that should be there, until you do a reload. *Shrugs This glitch only seems to be related to the open wasteland. I haven't noticed it in any other cells, such as the DC area. Maybe it's only in the open wastes that it happens. I dunno... Edit: After thinking about it... I'm thinking this is an MMM issue, or just how MMM interacts with the game engine. These glitches involve MMM spawns, gouped in with vanilla spawns. I don't think the game engine can keep up with the information that MMM is injecting into the cells, so it simply disappears... unless you reload the game while in said cell. It could also be argued that it's not MMM, but the game engine. Meh... either way it's immersion breaking and yet another reason I have not to use mods that produce above issues. Could even cause corrupt saved game files. Edited September 20, 2017 by ejroberts49
Pippokennedy
Same here, but i don't use MMM. Sometimes happens also with supermutants patrolling their camps in DC ruins and in the wastes, the camp on the road between Jefferson Memorial and Rivet city f.e. half of the time is empty but when i save and reload they are there bloodthirsty as ever. A reliable method i found to let them spawn automatically is to change cell: when i get in an interior cell and then come out and check the spawning point 100% they are there. Probably the game engine can handle at most a certain number of information for cell, when you load a mod that adds creatures and spawning points it simply fails to update informations and you have to trigger the spawning system reloading the game or changing the cell. Deleted21304489User
Thanks for your reply and not making me think that it's just me. My guess is that it's a flaw (limitation) with the game engine and I never really noticed it, until I started using MMM. Which just makes it more obvious. May be one reason why Bethesda decided not to over populate the wasteland open areas. However, using MMM also generated more glitches revolving around saves. One was a brain bot that I killed... right after that I got killed and when the game reloaded the robot was alive again. This was an MMM generated spawn. Also, I was watching a robot and wild boar fight each other. They were around 20 feet away. A deathclaw came up and killed me. When the game reloaded, I was in between the robot and boar. Needless to say... I got killed again. However, the deathclaw that killed me was not around. I actually had to go back to an earlier save to get out of that glitch. Again, I blame this on MMM... but to be fair, I think it's a combo of that mod and the limitations of the game engine. I've noticed the spawn issues around the areas that you're talking about. I'm wondering if it's just certain areas (cells) in the wastes. Again, reloading the game will make those creatures be there again. I have even tried just walking out of the cell and walking back in, but that doesn't work either. The only thing that seems to work is saving and reloading the game. It's hard to enjoy the game, once you notice this type of glitch. In the end... maybe using MMM is actually the best way to overcome the glitch... as it, at least keeps generating new spawns. Still... this may also create corrupt save game files as well. What to do...
Pippokennedy
Yeah i feel you, MMM is a fantastic mod but on the other hand he carries a lot of trouble and glitches. I remember the first time i tried it, i was on the way to discover Rivet City with Jericho, at the raider christmas camp near the Arlington bridge i was assaulted by a dozen of raiders (and with FWE marauders, fallen brothers and medicine men, damn sons of bitches), it was an epic battle and many other followed. MMM and FWE together makes F3 a very challenging game. But i just gave up, i tried several times to got it work always unsuccesful, lot of crashes, lot of corrupted save games, lot of glitches, lot of swearing. My old laptop simply can't handle it.I think you got the point: mods that overpopulate the wasteland seems to cause issues to the game, the game engine simply can't handle them on the long run. Another example is Wasteland Travellers that adds a tons of npc roaming through the game, another ultra-glitchy mod in my experience.I found a solution with lighter plugins like Imperfection for monsters and NPCs Travel for merchants and random people, just to make DC a less desolate, deserted and boring place. They works pretty fine, give it a try.For the spawn issues try entering in a building nearby the spawn point, it seems that entering in a interior cell triggers the spawn, walking to the next exterior cell doesn't work, i know it's annoying but it's the only things that works for me.
