AESamuel
Hi there, I recently got an armor retexture pack that looks great with the ancient shrouded armor, however the cowl just looks ridiculous with the rest of the armor. I want to make the cowl invisible while still being able to wear it and get its armor rating etc. I tried extracting the dds from the textures bsa and then simply erasing what was there in photoshop but that just gave me a funky milky-looking cowl :) - yes I am very new to modding. How would I go about creating this mod? I am only looking to make the ancient shrouded/shrouded cowl invisible for now. Thanks,Asa

fg109
I know nothing about modeling or texturing, but I read a topic where someone's weapon turned up invisible in the game. The reason was a missing alpha texture. I think that's the ***_1.dds file.
JoninCactuar
basically just deleting the texture removes the texture overlay, so the model will still be visible and have its default colour on. to get the model invisible you would actually have to delete the model. the cowl would still be exactly the same except it will not have any physical visibilty which is what you want. i think to delete the model you would have to locate its .nif, open it in nifscope and then delete the NiTriShape(s) in it http://i.imgur.com/Pyv1h.png Edited March 11, 2012 by tyfe1994
