Givemods
Hi so I've got a load of mods (about 80 little ones that add spells and such) and none of them are a problem, but I've also downloaded many content related mods such as: DarkstadtThe dwemer EggMoonpath to southern tropical eylsewerTheives guild overhaul and quite a few others that I've had to disable. I've noticed this trend in my game specifically that any mod that modifies the game world in some form, causes me to CTD either on start up, loading a save or entering a random building. I've checked all the mod comments and no one else seems to be experiencing CTD issues. I've read up on the load order thread and as far as I'm aware, take for instance, the thieves guild overhaul, I have no other mod that touched anything to do with the thieves guild (even disabled dovakiins hideout to ensure that the trap door wasn't conflicting) and still, the mod causes CTD. About the only thing I have not done is disable every mod except one. But I've checked over every enabled mod and none seem to edit conflicting files. It just seems to be that my game can't handle having a single content mod without dying (dovahkiin hideout seems to work, but that only really adds a door, the mods stated above edit the world). I'm just wondering is there anyone else out there that seems to be experiecing this issue at all? Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? ThunderBone
I get CTD with just about any texture mod. I have about 15-20 or so mods loaded and it 100% crashes every time I load a game up. it's annoying because I want the juicy content. Even if I just load Xenius Char enhancements or the HD 2k textures and nothing else it still crashes.. tho I have found no one having the same issues as me. most places I've checked say u need the 4GB patch but that's obsolete now since 1.3. I have 4GB of memory so that shouldn't be an issue. Modding is so darn complicating. gets really disheartening when you load one mod up and it crashes lol. My advice would be to check what each mod changes, and if there are two mods that change something in the same area or something like that it will probably conflict. could disable all mods and enable em one at a time to see which ones are crashing.. tho I'm sure there's someone else on this forum who will probably give better advice than that. Yeah that's the only option I could think of but I thought I'd check here first because I've got 108 subscribed mods and around 30-40 from here lol. It'll take me a long time to open and close Skyrim 140 times. I've got it fairly stable now (by disabling every content mod except dovakiin hideout) and it just CTD's in whiterun jarls place and sometimes doesn't render dungeons correctly (no floors or walls!). So there's another thing causing problems I've got to hunt down =\. As for your problem, that does sound strange, the only texture changing I've done is textures downloaded from here that literally just place files in the folder data\textures\* and I can't see how they'd cause problems...I deleted the Skyrim High Res DLC though, not sure if it happened for anyone else but for some reason it messed up my steel shield and it had no texture (even when I placed a texture in the texture folder) and the High Res DLC Fix from here didn't fix it either.
