Armor Skills/Special buffs disappearing

Hi All

Hope you are doing well.

Having a really weird issue.

When I equip a piece of body armor eg: bounty hunter duster it should give +1 cha and +1 guns.

If I then jump to the skills and specials page, respective skills/specials show the + and increase.

But as soon as I lower the Pip boy and re-enter it the + and buffs disappear from the skills and specials page but the effect still shows as active in the Stat page.

The weirdest thing is that it doesn't effect headgear as the perception buffs constantly show.

I've looked over my modlist and I'm not sure what could be effecting it, the only mod that I know of that effects equipment stats is JSawyer UE. The rest are cosmetic/texture/content/UI based/bug fixes.

The other 3 mods which do conflict with Jsawyer UE is FCO, New Vegas Redesigned 3 and Yup but I've got the compatibility patches for them and they seem to only conflict from cosmetic standpoint (npc equipment etc and not actually from a stat perspective)

The UI mods I use don't seem to be the problem as I only use separate mods for different aspects and they do not overlap.

Any help would be appreciated, even a suggestion for the relevant area to begin looking. As I am not new to the modding scene and can use Geck and use fnvedit etc but I am dont have extensive knowledge regarding the behind the scene programming.

Also if you are able to confirm (even without deducing the problem) regarding whether the effects are active even if they are not displayed in the skills/special window, this would be brilliant.

Kind Regards

That sounds more like a Pipboy issue than one with the Armor itself. The "buffs" are temporary increases to the status. It appears from your description that the Pipboy is only showing increases while it is open in the same "instance" of the Pipboy display after you equip the gear. When you close the Pipboy, the next time it is open it is a "new instance" which only shows the "base" stats. It's not displaying temp buffs as well. That your HUD is displaying the buffs (which is a different set of XML code), that tends to support that idea.

Even though you have UI mods that affect different aspects, the sequence in which you install them is important. Such mods often have to overwrite existing XML files, and this can have adverse impacts on some components if they don't provide the expected information. Please see the wiki "HUD-UI-Menu issues" article.

A list of your UI/Pipboy mods (especially any that do not include ESM/ESP files and thus not appear in the LO) may shed some further light on the matter.
