Reading the rest of this post/thread is a waste of time.___________________________________________________________________________I have just had a very frustrating weekend playing Oblivion. Not only did I enounter three separate mission bugs but all my carefullly stored stuff vanished :cry:. I do not have internet at home so had to wait until I could find the answers. Fortunately I found the answer to one bug (main quest) but not the other two. Perhaps it would be useful if a sticky thread for mission bugs was created - it could be used to both report bugs and fixes. Something like: Main Quest1. Tutorial2. Deliver the Amulet3. Find the Heir/Breaking the Siege of Kvatch4. Weynon Priory5. The Path of Dawn6. Dagon Shrine7. Spies8. Blood of the Deadra / Azura9. Bruma Gate10. The most straightforward way to complete the quest stage is is simply killing Aldos - bring up the console, click at him, type "kill" and press enter. You could also go through the quest with RGO disabled... supposing you even have it.________________________________________________________________________________ Question: to move past a stuck quest should will the following command work? player.setstage MQ02 10. E.g. to get past the main quest problem described below should I use the command "player.setstage MQ02 70"? EDIT: apparently it is not as simple as this, I tried and failed. Another question (unrelated to rest of post - I am getting my own topic off-topic, doh): I had read here somewhere that I could safely store all my stuff in guild halls (Mages or Fighters) after joining - this would appear to be not entirely correct as the stuff I had stored in cupboards and chests was gone later (due to game refreshing container contents). - Is there anywhere that stuff can be safely stored? - Do I need to just chuck stuff on the ground in the guild? (major pita)- Is there a mod that creates safe containers in guilds? (I am aware of the bag of holding mod but that is too cheaty for my liking)- I have heard that you can store stuff in purchased houses, are they safe from container refresh? Tamujiin Posted May 26, 2008 Share Posted May 26, 2008 Your Post calls for a little experimenting As far as storage goes, Most containers that are "vanilla" ( unmodded ) have a respawn period of three-10 days, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF!.........Purchased houses, Those containers do not respawn, therefore they are safe to store things in. As far as a an unoffical ( a mod ) home mod, or container for that fact, be sure to read the read me. Alot of mods that are specific about this, list which and which isnt safe to store stuff in. like Magic tower for example ( i think that is the one ) it has chests that respawn something, ( cant remeber havent been there or read it in awhile ), and then it states also that there are storage containers that are safe. As far as quest bugs, alot of people use the unofficial patch to fix those, but like before read the read me but also read the comments, as people also state other things there too. And then you can always do a search here for quest bugs, and find answers also, because 90% of the issues have been posted here already. Good luck. Good luck.Thanks for reply - I have all the latest official and unofficial patches - they do not stop quests going buggy it would seem. I agree with searching in principal and spent several hourse doing so. Unfortunately there is so much spam here that searching is both time consuming and possibly unrewarding - I am not having a go at anyone, this is a great forum and very helpful, but there does seem to be a lot of unnecessary thread creation.
