AlanHawk
I am very upset about this issue. I have searched all over the forums and either I fail at creating the right search criteria or I'm the only one with this issue. I have uninstalled everything fallout 4 related, manually removed everything left but my save files, from every directory I could find, both for everything steam put on my pc and everything nexus put on my pc. Then rebooted, then redownloaded off of steam and installed, opened it up once to the main window, clicked mods and redownloaded and enabled all the mods I wanted. but didn't start the game. Then I updated nexus, rescanned for games, found fallout 4, opened it up in fallout 4. Logged in, went to the website, logged in there, downloaded what I wanted. Mainly I just want old world radio to work, but downloaded a few others as well. Enabled them. Then opened fallout 4 again. tried to start the game, all of the bathesda mods were turned off! Re-enabled them, started the game, NONE of the nexus mods were there! Closed the game, disabled and reenabled all the nexus mods via mod manager. Then launched fallout 4 from inside the mod manager. Got the same message that all the bathesda mods were turned off again! But I went ahead and proceeded without turning them on. NONE of the nexus mods were there! Oh, just to clarify, I used nexus mod manager to install all of the nexus mods, I didn't manually install anything. So, HOW do I get the mods to work!!!???!!!! Please help. And I'm very sorry if this issue is covered in detail and I couldn't find it.
ModUser66
are you talking about the creation club mods? if so then a simple re-name should let you use both at the same time, rename the .esl files to .esm and use NMM to turn them on, if you can't see the .esl part then press alt, go to tools, then folder options, view tab and uncheck "hide extensions for known file types" im assuming you made the .ini edits already but you might also have to set some .ini s to read only (can't remember wich ones, its been a long time sence iv had to set them) otherwise the game mucks about and messes things up (no idea if it was ever "fixed")
AlanHawk
Thanks for the advice, but no. I'm talking about the mods that you can download and install from the mods menu in the main menu of the game.
Cube13
After you enable all the Bethesda mods from in-game, then exit and start up NMM to enable the other mods, have you checked the Plugins tab to make sure ALL the plugins are checked? I haven't used Bethesda mods since I discovered the Nexus so I don't really even know that they would show up in the plugins list in NMM. But they should if they are using .esp, etc.
AlanHawk
yes I have done that, all the plugins are there and checked. No the bathesda mods do not show up in the plugins. But when you look through folders for both the game and nexus, the game .esp files are not stored the same way as nexus mods are. Nexus mod .esp files are in a virtual install folder in the same directory structure that you store all nexus mods in, normal .esp files are just in the data folder for the game. Cube13
Hmm, I guess my system is different because every mod .ESP I have installed through NMM are all sitting in the "...Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data" folder. I also just created an empty text file called "zzztest.esp" and copied it to the Data folder and it showed up (unchecked) in my Plugins list in NMM. I don't know what to tell ya man :-(

You are having problems because both managers are fighting over your plugins.txt file and changing your load order every time you switch managers. Use the in-game "manager" only to download the mods you want from Bethnet and use NMM to install, activate and manage them. Elianora on how to do this. It's painfully simple. The forums search leave something to be desired. If you can't find what you want using it, there's this thing called Google all the kids these days use that is a helluva lot better. Info to solve your issue is out there if you use more than one resource for research. EDIT: It's also good practice to backup your plugins.txt file on a regulate basis. If something goes south and mucks it up (like with the initial CC update) you always have a backup copy to revert to.
AlanHawk
I found the problem. NMM was finding an old install of fallout 4 in a directory that looked so close to the correct one that I missed the problem before. It is all working now. No conflicts.
