Notor
Hey everyone. Ill start off by first saying I just got onto the modding scene, and decided to override (Model Swap) a Snake for Quiet with MQPM. Currently I'm in a bind when it comes to model swapping, I simply don't know how. I'm fairly sure I could fix what ever issue is cropping up from MSPM. As when I use it as the read me suggests. Its just a floating head with no body. So my question is. https://gyazo.com/1d170c24bcb6d2e0d387cd9c7d37f0ef What exactly are these files the Tools generate? Can someone explain to me what they are, or how to open them so I can take a look at them? The reason I ask this is because, I figured I could take away Quiet's head/face model so it only shows the player model instead. They seem to overlap (one on top of the other) I can see it, but it still has an invisible body. When I put any face mask on it turns into Quiets regular body. (Ill update with more screen shots) https://www.nexusmods.com/metalgearsolidvtpp/mods/497/? The mod creator seemed to do it, some how. And Id like to do it to, even if it means just removing a single file so it does so. But from looking at the posts/comments on the mod page. I get the feeling he abandoned it. Can anyone assist? BobDoleOwndU
Your question is unclear. Are you having in issue with the MQPM or the MSPM? Then you go on to talking about performing a model swap yourself? It's unclear what exactly you're trying to do.The MQPM Tool generates a _fpk and _fpkd folder for each outfit. The _fpk folder contains the models and data related to the models. The _fpkd is contains data related to physics files (.sim). The .pftxs file is generated by the MQPM Tool and contains texture files. The .fpk and .fpkd files are generated from the respective folders by MakeBite. All three file types can be opened with GzsTool. The overlapping heads is normal. That's why it says in the MQPM's install instructions (not the video) to equip the balaclava with recruits. The reason is that the balaclava is universal to all recruits while the other heads are not. Making a model swap that replaces all of the possible recruit heads would be a pain. If you're trying to use Quiet's body with a recruits head, you'll find the results to be disappointing. The recruit would lack eyes, and the head will be slightly distorted. While you could technically leave Quiet's eyes for the recruit, the slight distortions to the head will cause the eyes to clip with the model and it won't look right. Notor
This is fine. But why does it false advertise you can do it on the file page with MSPM? It highly implies you can have the Skull Sniper body with the DD Female head? https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1091/images/497-2-1501857787.jpg https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1091/images/497-4-1501857787.jpg Because if there aren't eyes there. Why even show it at all? I'm failing to understand the reasoning. Its extremely misleading, and all the more disappointing. ASpaceOstrich just replyed on their mod page saying they'll look into it. All this is very confusing. Edited September 29, 2017 by Notor
