EtRnitY
I'm having CTD while opening the world map since the new Bethesda update of Special Edition today.I didn't check BETA option, and this forced update broke my game and saves. Is there any way to fix it or reverse back? maheo30
Same problem. I'm about 70 hours into a character without a single CTD or freeze. I walk into Falkreath, press M and CTD. Now, every time I try to open my map I get a CTD. I've tried every thing I can think of. I've looked online. Nothing has worked. I have no mods installed that change the map. All I have left to do is a complete reinstall which I want to avoid. Especially since I don't know the cause. :-(
TendToDefend
The way I managed to fix this problem was by deleting the "map.swf" file in my SSE Folder completely. After doing so, I was able to successfully open the map, no problem. However, I thought by deleting this file, I would be unable to open my map, but I could. This may be due to the fact that I had "A Quality World Map" installed. Not sure if this is the reason (I'm a pretty big amateur at this type of stuff). NikitaDarkstar
Same problem, also no maps.swf file in my install folder to delete. Anyone else got any other ideas? PS: The map worked fine while inside of Whiterun, both world and local, same when in Windhelm, now when I'm out in the world? nope, crash.
TendToDefend
Yeah, scratch that "maps.swf". It's actually "map.swf" (no "s"). Sorry, about that. It's fixed now. Edit - Be sure to make a back-up of this file. Might need to reverse if there's an official fix for it, later.
NikitaDarkstar
Yhea that file simply does not exist as a loose file in my folder, my only loose .swf files are startmenu.swf, messagebox, swf, and dialoguemenu.swf so no quick and easy fix for me it seems like. I have sent in a bug report to the USEEP guys though, but I doubt they're unaware of the issue.
TendToDefend
Good choice. I'd just wait out all of these problems, to be honest. A lot of bugs going around with SkyUI & SKSE64 being released.
NikitaDarkstar
Well it seems like SSE Fixes and the dllplugin loader required to use it was the culprit for me. Got rid of those and the map now works fine. It means more random fps drops but I'll take it.

Also a side note on the CTD, it doesn't seem to happen if you open the map with a local map open, then it doesn't cause a CTD which is really odd because you can then close the local map and it works fine, problem is as soon as you leave an area where the local map auto opens you instantly get a CTD, hope this helps to fix SSF fixes/plugin loader. I would also like to say thank you to "NikitaDarkstar," I spent over three hours trying to fix this and almost gave up.
EtRnitY
Thanks, I changed ReplaceFormMap=1 to ReplaceFormMap=0 in FPSFixPlugin.ini There is no crash anymore when opening the world map But FPS are wild so it appears the fix isn't working anymore. I may delete it completely and wait for an update.
