yian
Just wondering if Godrays is a serious fps killer. I recently disabled it and wow I got15+ fps outdoor. I disabled a bunch of things so not sure if it is disabling Godrays that did the trick - The fog now looks significantly worse but the game still look quite okay because I run ENB (color correction only, no gimmicks.) Thank you for your input.
wfandrews
Depends on your rig. Godrays is one of the recommended options to disable if you are having fps problems.
jones177
For both of my rigs it uses 3fps set to ultra. I get a larger frame rate hit with ultra shadows. I set mine to medium with about 7fps gain. My view of Godrays is they look fantastic at 4k, ok at 1440 & not so good at 1080. It is a pixel density thing. It probably looks good on a 24" 1080 monitor but not so much on my 28" monitor. You need to judge for yourself if it is worth the hit.
