Help with file/folder movement & NMM stuff due to full HD

Hey guys, I need assistance in what I did (file/folder moved, and also related to NMM and mods due to full HD.

Sorry, I'm a N00b and IDKWTFIWD----

I got this brand spankin' new desktop PC and I totally forgot that it had 214gb on C: and 1.66tb on D:. I DL'd Steam and my games to the C:, forgetting that I had so much drive space.

Anywhoo, after loading a bunch of Steam games, the last game I put in very recently was Skyrim (not SE). I'm also a new "enlistee" to the Nexus so I got mods. The DL for Skyrim went without any probs and completed. I began collecting my mods, getting well close to 200 when the NMM stopped mid-load and an error message came up telling me my drive was nearly full. As in, 6GB away from max storage. Ick.

Soooo, as I said, IDKWTFIWD, but I attempted to "merely" move /steamapps from C: to D:. Which I did.

So when I tried firing up Skyrim, using the .executable on the desktop, it didn't work. So I tried the Launcher via the file in D:, and the first thing it did was think that the game was uninstalled and it DL'd the /steamapps for Skyrim back into the original folder along the files, in C:. So, now C: and D: both have Skyrim. I don't want to keep Skyrim on C: so what do I need to do to reconfig whatever so that the program will .exe to D: and not C:. To make the situation even more complicated, I think over 1/2 the NMM mods were C: at the time until the drive became full and I moved to D:. Incidentally, I moved the data mods from C: to D:, keeping it all in the same area that originally was in C:.

My questions are (and please be kind), what do I need to do? Could someone create a baby-steps guide to make sure that a) my desktop game launchers are copacetic with the files in D:, and b) what to I need to do to make sure all my mods are pointing in the proper D: area to make sure there's no CTDs.

Worst case scenario, I hope I don't have to uninstall every game including steam and reconfig from square one, including removing all my mods and starting over. Is that right or too extreme? Please give me advice.

Thank you.
