Causticquoth
Launched fine yesterday, no problem, everything was fine. Didn't touch it since then till today, no new mods or changes. Today when I start the game it flashes from the menu to black screen and back and forth, all the while with no mouse control. In the video it just shows a menu screen with no Skyrim logo, but from my perspective, it flashes to black and back to the menu over and over again. It's looking like I'll have to just not play the game ever again but any thoughts first? EDIT: I notice there is a new survival mode message at main menu...HAS to be it.... Niborino9409
I doubt that you can never play it again. Try deleting the launcher and downloading it again through Steam.
thumbincubation
There was just an update. You may need to start a new save. I'd suggest, first, try verifying integrity of your game files, then re-clean your masters, re-use LOOT, make a new bashed patch (if you use it) and try playing again. If you want a cleaner slate, go to documents > my games > skyrim special edition and cut/past both your skyrim.ini and your skyrimprefs.ini to a different folder, first. Then open steam, start the game to get the screen where it selects your graphics settings. After you're done, exit and start with LOOT from there. That will cause the game to create new files. If something goes wrong, delete them and move your old ones back, and you're at square one.
