ADestroyer97
Hi, I am just wondering how i can link the twin souls perk to my custom conjuration spells. For example, i created a spell that conjures a dwarven spider in creation kit- went through all the steps needed to create a spell so on and so forth, however when i have the twin souls perk, i try and create another dwarven spider it destroys the one i just created. The only perks my conjured automatons seem to benefit from are the ones that half the value to summon it. Any tips would be appreciated. P.S i have looked at multiple guides on YT and the Bethesda wiki but I havent found anything useful :)
foamyesque
The Twin Souls perk requires your magic effect to have one of a number of keywords, which you likely don't have on it: MagicSummonFamiliar, MagicSummonFire, MagicSummonFrost, MagicSummonShock, MagicSummonUndead, and if you have Dragonborn, DLC2MagicAshSpawn. The best way to fix this is to create a new perk with the same effect as TwinSouls and give it to the player immediately. As a condition of it working you can make it require TwinSouls to be on the player, and then you can add a custom keyword, such as ADMagicSummonAutomatron, to your magic effect and to the perk's conditions. This will functionally extend the Twin Souls perk to apply to your stuff without causing mod conflicts. NPCs will not be able to take advantage unless you directly edit their ActorBase records, but I assume that's not a priority. ADestroyer97
Thanks for the Info. Cant I just add the keyword like MagicSummonFire to my created spell to allow it to be affected by the twin souls perk and the summoner perk? Or will that cause bugs? You could, but keywords are how a fair amount of information gets passed around. The game'll think your summons are fire atronachs in a lot of places, if you do that. MagicSummonFamiliar would be a better bet, I think; it's tied into less.
ADestroyer97
Thanks, I will play around with it and see what I can do. I will probably go for the MagicSummonerFamiliar because I dont want them to be affected by elemental potency cause I dont want to see what happens if elemental potency tries to make a potent dwarven sphere. :P
ADestroyer97
So i tried doing the easy thing which of course didnt work. Says the form is not unique so I cant go around putting MagicSummonFamiliar on all my automatons. Gonna have to try and do the perk solution which is fine but a little annoying.
