Maximus IronFist
Ok since I know what you are trying to do per your other thread maybe this will help.Disclaimer This is simply the way I do this. I learned by following some tutorials and trial and error. If following this vulks up your game sorry but you were warned. 1. Start NifSkope and go to Render>Settings>Auto Detect Game Paths. This will tell NifSkope where your Meshes and Textures are located on your system.2. Once that is accomplished click load and navigate to where ever you have Oblivion installed ie: C:/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion/Data/Meshes3. Click the weapons sub folder and open LPotD(Lost Paladin of the Divines)>Wrath here you will see several nifs with different names ie: claymor.nif longswordflame.nif etc. Pick longswordflame.nif and you should see the sword and the flame animation on a black background with several axis points red, blue and green. You can move the sword around with your mouse for different perspectives.4. Go back up top and click View and make sure that Block List,Block Details and Show Blocks in List all are checked. This will show you two panes that have all the info about this mesh ie: what textures are used, scale, colors etc.5. Since per your other thread you said you wanted to have the flame sword and possibly change the color of the flames all you would need to do at this point is open the three NiMaterialProperty branches (they have a pallete next to them and will say Fire[side],Fire Particle,Spark Particle. Upon opening each branch you will see four values marked Ambient, Diffuse,Specular, and Emissive. These are what changes the color of the flames. You will need to click on the little circular icon that has all the colors in it and mess around with the different values using the circle and triangle. 6. Once you have a flame color you like you can save it. !!!!!! Important Info!!!!!! Save it as something other than longswordflame.nif. IE longswordflame1.nif or something like that7. Now you can open the CS and either place the sword in the game or change the path of the sword you have to the one you just modded.8. When the CS opens go to Data and check the Lost Paladin esp. My advice is to not set an active file. This will cause you to make your own esp file when you save. This is good IMO because you can put all of your modded weapons, armor etc in this file and not mess with the original esp's in case you goofed up when you modded stuff.9. Ok now that everything is loaded open the weapons branch and find LPotD and open it and you should see a list of swords. Pick the longsword and double click it. Another window will open showing you the properties of said sword. To pLace a new sword in the game using you modded mesh you will need to change the ID of the sword. Keep it simple Now over in the top right corner there are three boxes with links to the mesh, texture and icon of said sword. Change the top box by clicking on it and navigating to where you saved your mesh in NifSkope IE: meshes/weapons/LPotD/Wrath/longswordflame1.nif. Now click ok in the window concerning your sword and it will say something to the effect that you have created a new form ID. Click yes or Ok and you should see you new Sword ID in the list . 10. Now you can place your new sword into the game by navigating the interiors screen (bottom right window). 11. When placing the new mesh(sword) in the game you will need to find a place you are very familiar with ie: Anvils Chapel, a house you bought etc. Lets use Anvils chapel as an example. Find Anvil Chapel in the list not the undercroft or hall but strictly the chapel. Double click it and a new list will pop up on the right. Pick on of the alters listed IE: Arkays alter etc. Double click it and in the render widow above you should see the alter outlined in a multicolored box.!!!! IMPORTANT!!!! Single click the floor beside it so that you dont inadvertently move the altar when placing your new sword. You can also mess with the zoom by using your middle mouse button. Get as close to the altar as possible but where you can still see it and some of the surrounding space. Now Go back to your weapons list and drag your new made sword over into the render window and drop it on top of the altar. It will be outlined with a multicolored box. While it is outlined double click it and a new window will pop up that allows you to modify the placement of your new sword. Mess with the values and try and get your sword sitting just on top of the altar. Be aware that it takes some playing with to get it right. Once you are satisfied on the placement you can save.12.When you save it will have you make a new esp file. Name it. I pick my characters name and maybe an identifier IE: Maximus Weapons.esp etc.13. Congratulations you have modded your game. Now when you start Oblivion place a check next to your new esp and when you are playing go find your new sword.
