Install order?

I have too many hours modding Fallout4, so no need to explain the basics, but i am new to skyrim, and i could really use your help on something that potentially could save me a lot of hours in the testing mill.

In what order would you install these?

1. Arri's snow elf ruins retexture

2. Blended roads

3. hd LODs textures

4. hd road signs

5. Majestic mountains

6. noble skyrim

7. Ruins clutter improved

8. Static mesh improvement

9. Terrain lod redone

10. Verdant grass.

11. Claralux.

Don't mind patches, i will figure that out as i go.

Not so much the load order, i use loot>wrye>tesedit for that, but the overwrite order i'm looking for, especially concerning the big texture/lod mods. I chose these because many of you seem to use them, so i figured help would be pretty easy to obtain. I am open for suggestions though, but no trees.

Thanks.

Most of those are texture mods. Unless files cover the same thing, you don't have to install them in a particular order.

With SMIM (and/or Ruins Clutter Improved), you usually want to install that first, and then any texture overhauls after, like Noble Skyrim, allowing NS to overwrite SMIM. Be sure to download and also install the NS SMIM Patch. That's important. (Also keep in mind that the NS SMIM Patch itself needs to be updated to work with the newest version of SMIM, but it's mostly usable for now.)

You also should read the comments on Ruins Clutter Improved and SMIM to see how that and SMIM go together. I don't know how things have changed since SMIMs newer updates. RCI also needs to be updated.

You would install all of those others after SMIM and NS, allowing each to overwrite if asked. Majestic Mountains will overwrite NS mountain textures. The order for the rest doesn't matter since I don't believe there are any conflicts with those things.

You can install both Verdant and Claralux at any time.

Yes, some of them had overwrites, but it seems to work like intended now. Had to remove some weird floating leaves manually, but that is minor. And "point the way" seems to conflict and leaves some extra sign poles i can't patch myself out of, so that one goes. It was nice of you to point me in the right direction, thanks.

I'm only aware of a single "extra" sign post from Point the Way, shortly after the cave outside Helgen. That isn't an extra sign post, but rather the default one; Arthmoor added his own signpost near it. That was intentional due to mods that add a sign post to that location, pointing the player to some new destination added by the mod. This is mentioned in the comments, which is why I say it's worthwhile to look in the comments section on mods. I'd regard Point the Way as essential if you're going to forgo a lot of fast traveling and go along to places on foot/horseback.

Yes, that is the one, first i thought maybe blended roads conflicted with point the way. One post, two post , extra post.

Anyways, i found some clipping outside Windhelm caused by claralux, so that one got the boot since i do not posses the scripting knowledge to adjust that one. But maybe i will give point the way a second chance.

I know clipping, leftovers, duplicates and bugs are unavoidable, i do have almost 3000 hours modding in Bugout4 mind you, but i would rather not contribute to the list of annoyances, so anything that remotely f*#@s up in-game or in tesedit, just get cut. That is how i usually keep my fallout stable and ctd free, so i guess that would work here too.

I once spend a lot of time reading comments and bug reports, but 95% of them are frivolous and more the case of people not using common sense, on the fallout forums anyways, so i gave that one up.

But you are very right, nobody ever died of reading, and i should probably go read a bit on the mods i downloaded before i make more of an ass of myself. But let me promise you now, you will never see me in here with a trivial ctd question, that is simply not gonna happen on a save that i am committed to.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Hey,

In regards to your issue with Point The Way. I'd suggest trying this mod instead: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10180/?

It's primarily a re-texture of the signs but it also adds new signs to places lacking them. I use pretty much all the mods you listed (except the HD Road Signs and Verdant) and have had no issues. It has a patch for Claralux too.
